I’ll start by saying the site and its amenities are very good; nice pools, lovely eating areas and plenty to do. The poor-scoring elements of our (family of four) holiday were entirely down to the accommodation provided through Eurocamp. As noted in other reviews, the site itself is very hilly and consequently, much of the accommodation is organised in a terraced fashion, sat on flat surfaces / ledges cut into the sloping hillside. This in itself isn’t a problem but what we found was the higher you go, the available space and general maintenance in front of, and around, the caravan is VASTLY different versus being located towards the bottom and nearest the main centre of the site. We were on the back (highest) row of the lower village accommodation and our caravan felt like being in a shanty town, crammed in amongst others and almost engulfed in greenery. In front of the caravan decking there must have been about 1.5m set aside for a walkway along the front of neighbouring caravans to get to the nearest pathway and make your way up or down the hill. By comparison, caravans towards the bottom probably have 5-10m open area which makes for a far more pleasant feel outside the caravan where you could sit outside enjoying dinner, relaxing etc. We didn’t spend any time whatsoever on our decking because it felt uncomfortable, unkept and starved of any decent light / sun. I’ve included some pictures of better located caravans for comparison, there are plenty nicer ones than those even. The whole atmosphere of where we were located was nothing like the holiday atmosphere you feel towards the lower part of the site; it felt detached and secluded. The kids bedroom smelt damp which resulted in us all sleeping between one main room and on the sofa. Not fun with young kids. The two windows on the rear side of the caravan looked directly into a stone retaining wall about 1m away. Little, if any, natural light from that side especially with us leaving the curtains closed all the time to conceal what was a depressing outlook. Not to mention the likelihood of bugs if you open the windows! In the end we paid nearly £300 to rearrange our flights to leave early, four days into a seven day break … a disappointing result for what we were expecting to be a nice family getaway. As I say, the site and its amenities are good, very good in fact. But as for the accommodation we were given through Eurocamp, disappointing is an understatement. I’ll never use again. If you’re thinking of booking, go for it. Just not with Eurocamp.
