Ikos Andalusia

We have just returned from Ikos Andalucia. I will start at the beginning. When we arrived a little after six in the evening, we were received very poorly. Virtually nothing was explained and we didn't know where to go at all. We had to figure everything out for ourselves. The first evening we had dinner at Beach Club. There was absolutely nothing to complain about here and we enjoyed our first evening. Furthermore, we went to the bar for a while. The main bar is rather small considering the number of people in the bar. The cocktails are not special and are very sweet and no quality fresh produce used at all. Arrived at the room: no warm welcome with a bottle and a snack. Totally nothing in the room. Very sad for a hotel 5 star deluxe. Also never experienced before. Our room was very small. We had a superior seaview. We had room 1313. We had absolutely no place to put our suitcase. There were also dirty chairs (photos can be supplied), stubborn spots on the terrace and a place to put something was completely stained with big black streaks. There was also a very pungent sewer smell in the room during our stay and a very dull mouldy smell in the shower. Dissatisfaction was reported to you as early as the beginning of the stay but all you offered us was 1 night in a higher room type: the last night when we had to pack our bags. We were completely ignored. Further, I had asked to get cola zero deca and Nespresso deca in the room for health reasons, but after 1 day, this was not spontaneously delivered to the room. Furthermore, we never received large bath towels during our 6-day stay and I had to ask for flannels to be brought to the room daily. Regarding reservations in the a-la-carte restaurants, I would like to point out that it is not normal that you absolutely cannot deviate from the original reservations. Result: ended up in the buffet restaurant almost all evenings due to absolutely no flexibility from the hotel. Furthermore, the entertainment and evening entertainment was below par for a hotel of such a category. Entertainment like White Night below par. Experienced White Night earlier this year at Ikos Olivia and there they did pay due attention to the event and it was a really fun experience for the whole family. The last afternoon went to eat at Fresco. I had a sole with fries there. A Mac Donalds menu looks more appetising. Again, photos can be supplied. Requested certain wine on the wine list and no longer available. Then a hot bottle of wine was offered as an alternative. Furthermore, I would like to raise the issue of the beach. This is totally unacceptable for a 5-star hotel. Absolutely nothing has been done about the state of the beach. As a final point, I would like to let you know that all the info on the app is out of date. Furthermore, I got a very harsh impression that these were the last days. We had best time in Ikos Andalusia with our 2 small kids :) resort is very well prepared for little ones. We’ve been deluxe guests and we loved it. Our deluxe concierge Dionisis was very professional and made holiday stress free :) we travel a lot and always choose best hotels in the world (one&only, st regis, four seasons, ritz carlton etc.) and Ikos Andalusia is top of the top

I visited Ikos Andalusia with my husband and three year old daughter. The Heroes Club were friendly and helped my daughter settle. My daughter really enjoyed the splash park and playground. I liked the variety of food and bar options. The staff at the restaurants and around the resort in general were also very helpful. I was a bit nervous going in mid October but the weather was good most days. I loved the design of the room and resort and how walkable the resort was. I definitely would recommend Ikos Andalusia.

This is our second visit to Ikos Andalusia and we were unfortunately disappointing. We didn’t get off on a good note since, after a long journey, no welcome drink was offered on arrival this time. A small thing I know, but this hotel boasts 5 star luxury and a welcome drink is listed on the hotel benefits, to be left seated waiting to check in for half an hour without so much as a water is disappointing especially since our child was very thirsty from travelling. It’s a nice hotel and a good choice of restaurants. However, the service is often slow and we have had our order not provided or items missed on numerous occasions. It makes it difficult when you have to have to follow up and wait for things when you have small children waiting at the table. The staff are friendly and are always asking if there is anything they can do, or anything that can be delivered to the room. However, when it comes to it, the things we have requested never materialise. We requested a baby changing mat before arriving and were told one would be in the room. However, one was never delivered despite asking several times. It’s disappointing since this is meant to be a very baby friendly resort we didn’t bring a mat since we thought it wouldn’t be a problem. There are other smaller items which we were told would be delivered to be the room but we had to chase these and some things that didn’t arrive at all. It’s not nice having to chase things on holiday. Similarly, there are other examples of promises not being fulfilled. We were told at breakfast that we could wait for an outside table inside, which was fine. However after several minutes, we saw the hostess seating new families on outside tables that had become available. We are often told one thing, and then another thing happens. I checked in the morning one day whether the evening Bird Show was still going ahead, I was assured it would, and that we would be informed if plans changed. Alas, no one informed us but the Bird Show did not go ahead. We booked a sea view which is lovely. However, there are sewage works being done on the beach which are noisy and so spoil the view somewhat (photos included). Finally, the smell in the deluxe side of the resort is very bad. We first noticed it in the Seasons restaurant and can smell in very bad sometimes on our balcony. It’s a sewage smell, like strong rotten eggs.

Absolutely fabulous from start to finish. Service is exceptional, food is great ! Had an amazing stay, have been before and will be coming back! The attention to detail with everything was well noted. My 4th visit to Ikos Andalusia surpassed all expectations. With each return, the experience only elevates. Ikos stands out as an exceptional chain, offering unparalleled service. Arriving on opening day, we anticipated some initial hiccups, but to our delight, there were none. From the smooth airport pick-up to settling into our room, every step was seamless and sleek. The dining experience at Ikos Andalusia is nothing short of extraordinary. Each restaurant presents a diverse array of fantastic dishes. The warmth of the waiting staff, who greet you like long-lost friends, adds a special touch. Their attention to detail, like remembering the wine you enjoyed yesterday, makes you feel truly valued. Some standout dishes include Ouzo's lamb kleftico, prawn sagnaki, orange pie, and chicken in mustard sauce. At Fresco breakfast, the turkey sandwich, French toast, and emmental with turkey are not to be missed. And the egg white omelette at the beach club is simply amazing. The chiringuito is such a wonderful setting & the menu here is perfect. However, what truly sets Ikos Andalusia apart is its exceptional staff. In Olivia, Daria, along with Natalia and Manuel at the beach club, Angela and Alejo at the main bar, and Elizabeth at Provence, each contribute to making every moment special. If you have the opportunity to partake in wine tasting with Anastasia, it will undoubtedly be a highlight of your holiday. Her knowledge and professionalism are fabulous, and the wines she selects for you are perfect recommendations. Vasia, the spa manager, organized the most perfect treatments for us. The therapist she chose was outstanding, and I had one of the best massages I've ever experienced. Pilar is the nicest lady & goes above & beyond to make your stay special. A credit to Ikos. In conclusion, Ikos Andalusia continues to exceed expectations, offering unparalleled service, exceptional dining, and a staff that goes above and beyond to ensure guests have an unforgettable experience. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Amazing hotel, the food is exceptional, and the service is fantastic. Fresco was a favourite, as was the adults cocktail bar. The Ikos recruitment team have a knack of picking the most friendly helpful staff you can imagine. Our garden view junior suite was beautiful. We’re back in June and counting down the days.

Wonderful hotel , superb staff , lovely food . Ikos has a unique feel that spreads throughout the staff , that they make you feel like family . Nothing is too much trouble . Special mentions have to go to Pilar , Lucia and Christina who were all so welcoming and helpful and Theodore around the pool . We will be back soon

This was our first stay with Ikos and wow. The resort lived up to its five star rating and more. Our expectations were exceeded. We had the best holiday resort experience in a lifetime of holidays at top resorts. We used to work with and stay in leading resort hotels in Florida and the Caribbean - this was better than any of them. There is nothing Ikos has not thought of - sheets, pillows, mattresses, coffee, food, wine lists, gym, spa, day trips, service. The food & service are incredible - my husband loves Carbonara and at Fresco he had the best he's ever had (sorry, Florence, Rome etc) - Marco was also a brilliant waiter for us there. Seasons was also amazing and the breakfast buffet at Flavours is laughably fantastic. But all the restaurants and all the staff are great. Wine lists are exceptional throughout and feature delicious Spanish wines. The spa is amazing in every way - facility, staff, products. We both had the best massages of our lives there and went back for seconds. The gym facilities are super, indoors and out. We went as a couple, and although there were lots of kids around they were in separate (but equal) areas - again, everything has been thought of. Even the back of house is brilliantly designed, giving the impression that the staff are hardly working, when they are undoubtedly working very hard! Oh and the whole place is scented beautifully of oranges etc - seriously, there is nothing they've not thought of. I said to my husband, 'they must be crushing all competition - why would anyone stay anywhere else?' And indeed, I think all our R&R holidays will be at Ikos in future! Tips: Get the Ikos app before arrival and do the pre-register stuff. There was a small delay when we checked in (we went for an amazing lunch at Olio), but if we'd done this it likely wouldn't have happened. Also, book your first few nights' dinners on the app before you come and then the rest when you arrive and don't change them, as reservations aren't easy to get last minute. That said, if plans change (one evening we were meant to attend a pre-wedding dinner event but ended up eating at Ikos), Flavours buffet is incredible, and has a lovely view of the resort & sea. We also arranged to be collected in the Ikos Mercedes at extra cost (my husband had work calls), and Walter our driver was superb. I could go on and on with accolades! Basically, we can't wait to go back.
