I had to cancel but couldn’t get a refund. Very disappointed with the service. I would understanding charging me for the first night, but not the second.

We stayed here because the hospital where our dog was having his second cancer operation recommended it. I expected a better value and a decent night's sleep. Pros: Staff were very nice Fairly modern facility Small refrigerator in the room Good breakfast, many choices Cons: Bed was terribly uncomfortable We woke up with back aches - deal breaker! Pillows were far too thick and hard There was black mold in the shower For €80, during low season, with an uncomfortable bed and in an isolated area, I would expect to pay €70 max! I stayed at the Mafra Hotel for 10 days and must say it is an excellent option. Professional, solid standard. Helpful reception staff. Good breakfast. Central location, just 5 minutes walking distance from the Convent. It has a small supermarket, a petrol station and a laundry just around the corner. The best feature is probably the large (and free) parking area right next to the hotel which is super convenient if you come with a car. I would stay at Mafra Hotel again and highly recommend it.

The staff was nice and breakfast was really good, but the hotel is at a really loud street and the windows are terrible and let all the sound through. We actually had to check out early because it was impossible to sleep.
