The place felt very safe and in a nice setting with plenty of green outside space. Rooms were very clean and spacious with nice private front terraces. The staff were really friendly and helpful, especially the onwer, Agnes, who arranged sightseeing trips in the area, airport transfer (15 mins) and other transport for us. There is a nice bar area where they serve great breakfast and drinks. They even stocked up on our favourite drinks on request.
The only drawback for us was the location. It's very isolated on a residential dirt road so to get to Victoria Lake, supermarkets or restaurants you rely on costly guesthouse transport or UBER (wifi in Uganda is very flaky due to power cuts). Agnes did arrange takeaway from a nearby restaurant one evening so that's an option otherwise.

African Roots was a piece of paradise after a week in Nortnern Ugandan Refugee camps. The place is beautiful —which you might not think when driving there-spacious and attractive grounds. The bed was firm but soft and the place was immaculate. But what set it apart was the outstanding service. The entire staff was so kind and superb. They give you rides to where you want to go in Entebbe and when one of our group was sick, they checked on her to make sure she was ok. They also let us remain there in the rooms until late because of that and did not charge extra. It was truly the best hospitality by kind people. Oh, and the breakfast was fantastic!!!! The only issue was *******, who sent the wrong address on the confirmation email as they had moved. It is correct on their information. The lovely driver came immediately and directed our driver to their place. I cannot say enough good things about this place.
