Well located close to the main attractions of the city, the hotel is nicely decorated and has a good ambiance. We stayed in a suite on the second floor right at the front/corner of the hotel looking to the train station and Discovery. The suite was very spacious and tastefully decorated with a separate seating area with TV, very large bathroom with double sinks and showers and a freestanding bathtub. The bedroom has a very comfy large bed and a sofa and wardrobe with mini bar etc. It was really nice but with a few things that took off the sheen - such as very creaky floorboards , a standing lamp and ceiling down light that was broken in the bedroom, and three which were broken in the sitting area (the entire ceiling lighting). It was a bit noisy facing onto the main road too but quieter overnight. The restaurant was lovely with delicious food and the bar was good too. All in all for the price paid it was great but staff (who are very friendly) should definitely make sure all lights are working in the rooms. They should nail down those creaky floorboards too!
Super easy to find with paid parking right around the corner and a link bridge to the property. Nice tidy clean rooms with great showers and hairdryers. Delicious full breakfast included in the rate.

A converted jute mill is the location for this fabulous hotel & suites. You are greeted by a great ambience and friendly staff. The suite was spacious and well-equipped. The kitchen area was spotless and certainly would enable one to cater for themselves. The bathroom, again spacious, had the best shower.
A comfy bed gave a good night's sleep. Breakfast was a self service affair. The breakfast seating area was light and inviting. Food was tasty and constantly replenished, and the variety of hot drinks was impressive. It was a buffet style but fitted our leisurely approach to the day.
The only fly in the ointment was the parking. There is very limited parking for the hotel (for which you would be charged £12.50) or a short walk away there is local authority run car park which at the pay and display you can pay to park -we paid £6.60, expertly explained by Holly at reception, it maybe needs to be made more clear on the website for clarity.
We came down to spend time with family and the landmark hotel didn't disappoint. We just loved your hotel and was so impressed on how clean and beautiful it is. The staff was friendly and helpful and we will definitely be back
Stay at Premier Inn Hotel Dundee East and you'll be able to enjoy all the sights of Dundee and Aberdeen without any of the hustle and bustle. We're in the ideal village location, perched on the edge of the Angus countryside and country parks. Wander heather-clad hills and explore forests filled with wildlife. Or stroll the courses as you watch the Dunhill Cup. Walk alongside the fishing pools at Forbes of Kingennie, and even throw in a line yourself. Come back to the restaurant at our hotel for plenty of fish and everything else on the menu, and lovely comfy beds in your room.
I recently booked this venue for my dad's funeral service and tea, and while the hotel itself was lovely and the food was outstanding, unfortunately there were issues with the bar service that put a damper on the day. The hotel setting was beautiful and the quality of the catering could not be faulted, however one bar staff member in particular marred the day with his unprofessional attitute. He refused to serve me because i attempted to buy a drink for my 20 yr old nephew who he mistakenly assumed was under 18. While I understand the importance of adhering to age restrictions, this staff member was rude and refused to serve me at all, for myself or any other of my very much over 18 familiy members. This felt unnecessary and disrespectful on such a significant day for our family. Thankfully, higher management stepped in and resolved the issue, which we greatly appreciated, but such a dissappointing and avoidable experience at an otherwise lovely venue.
A lovely building, and free on street parking, my room had a view of the sea. Its in a really quiet area of Dundee. The bed is really comfy, however some of the walls could do with a clean (coffee stains up them). Breakfast was massive (too big for me) and not really Scottish, no haggis, no black pudding compared to other Scottish breakfasts - I personally would prefer a smaller breakfast with better ingredients. Again the table clothes could do with a clean, tea stains on mine. Staff were friendly.
This was our third stay at Woodlands Hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed it again. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean, with all the accessories we have come to expect. Unfortunately we chose a 2 night stay during storm 'Bert', which meant that we decided to stay within the hotel during the second day. That, however, was no hardship as we spent our time swimming in the lovely pool and having coffee and scones in the lounge. Dinner and breakfast was lovely as usual and we met several locals who choose to eat there, so that has to be a good endorsement. We look forward to future stays at Woodlands.
