Had a great stay here! They saved me a room as the place I booked was overbooked. Had a good talk with Greg, the owner. He taught me a lot about the area and was super helpful with planning out my next few days. Would recommend!

Unfortunately we only stayed one night but the amenities were better than expected for the price .Greg the owner and his right hand man were most helpful suggesting restaurant a and things to see. They were very friendly. Dien Bien Phu is a historical yet compact town to visit

Simply the best! The Vietnamese manager was very helpful and considerate. I did the 3-day "Easy Rider" tour with the Moung mountain people of Northern Vietnam, staying at their homes every night. "Sone" was a fantastic tour guide who knew the area well and was very friendly with the Moung. Staying the last night at the Vietnamese manager's home, near the very famous camp of the Vietminh leader Võ Nguyên Giáp, we had an excellent meal and friendly chat. Frontier Hostel and Tours is definitely my "go-to" stay in Vietnam.

In a lesser visited part of Vietnam, this is a great stop while touring the northnorthwest with a bike, or travel from Laos to Hanoi. Situated in the somewhat dusty Dien Bien Phu this is a great travellers stop. Loved the vibes. Clean rooms, good rate. English is well spoken ( google translate can only get you so far in a conversation) , the nextdoor lady cooks up nice food and a stonethrow is away a great coffee place. Proper motorbike tours can be booked here ( its licensed company, not the crappy unregulated stuff where you lose a limb or a life ). Hence: Highly recommended. ( normally i get bit bit suspicious with all perfect reviews, here these are well earned ).

Just Had one day in Dien Bien Phu, but when Meeting Greg at Frontier Hostel i Wish i Had more time. He helped us with our further Trip and was very nice and friendly. In Addition they offer great Trips around the area, also 2 or 3 day Trips, and adventurous Trips by Jeep or motorbike. Next time in Vietnam i Plan to Spend some days there.

Greg at Frontier hostel was amazing and helped us with everything - SIM cards, bus tickets, local eats, where to find atms and even travel tips for Vietnam. We stumbled upon this place late at night after a long bus and we had a private room for very affordable price. Hot showers, clean facilities, AC. Good location. Would highly recommend this place! Wish we had more time to try out their tours but I have no doubts that they would be great.
