Our third visit to the Karamboa, the previous visits being 2016 & 2019. Since our last visit the hotel has been refurbished and there have been a few changes. We checked in a few days before arriving using the RIU app, not sure if it made a difference or not but check in was quick and easy. We took a taxi from the airport which cost $10 and I would recommend it (no need to book as there are plenty outside waiting) Our room was ready for us, we were given stickers with our room numbers to put on the suitcases, and they were brought up within 10 minutes or so. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious, storage etc, and modern and fresh. We were in room 2119, it was in the block nearest to the main building, we over looked the grounds and to the right had a bit of a sea view. Had no problems with noise from any rooms above/below or next door during our stay. Rooms are cleaned daily, they do a brilliant job. Not sure how often towels would normally be changed, but if you feel they need changing you can leave them on the bathroom floor and they are changed for you. One of the biggest changes was the pool area, you will be spoilt for choice, and you will never be short of finding a sunbed either by the pool or the beach, whatever time of day it is. The pools are great, the pool bar, toilet blocks, pool area, gardens are constantly being cleaned, cups collected etc. There is an area where the activities take place and some music, but we preferred to use the pool away from that which was a bit quieter. You won't be be disturbed or have anybody trying to persuade you to join activities if you don't want too. Restaurants, the main restaurant is now split into 3 areas, there is an area where the food is set out and either side of that indoor seating areas or you can sit outside. It does get very busy inside the area where you get your food from, but once you have got your food it was calmer in the eating areas. Whatever meal time it is you will not go hungry, plenty of food and choices, food was always hot and everything was kept topped up. We ate in the Italian and the Asian restaurant, which although are still self service it was nice as you felt more like you were in a restaurant. The Asian in particular was lovely. We didn't have any trouble booking via the app the day we arrived. We enjoyed the evening entertainment, one or two nights just weren't our thing but the staff work really hard to put on good shows. The hotel does seem to get busy on a night and its noticeable just how busy the hotel is, but again they are geared up for this and you will never be short of finding a table/chair etc and queues at the bar were minimal with plenty of staff serving wherever you went. Glasses and pots etc were collected quickly once you were finished with them and tables cleaned. During the day we always had a walk along the beach, if you turn to the left there is a beach bar about 20 mins walk, and if you turn to the right there is one in t
