I fell lucky finding this place , cheap as the proverbial chip for the place itself and surroundings. Gardens are great , room is quite nice and definitely value for money. Huge Indian staff presence, and there was a likewise wedding going on too. Service at the bar was pedestrian but pleasant , obviously the bar people were multi tasking let’s say. I checked out both menus , a bit limited and pricey , so considering the surroundings , I went Indian. It wasn’t great …. Fish curry was tasty but a bit watery … 2 choices of rice but they didn’t have one of them , so plain or plain at £5 a pop. I suggested coconut rice and her face said it all. They forgot my drink , it came much later after a gentle reminder. Service was tentative but annoying , robotic. Top fella came to see me, (Harry, lovely chap) I told him the truth … bought me a drink , fair play …. But I’d rather they just got it right . Great hotel with potential , a lot of repeat customers tonight from mutterings…. I’d come back , but maybe take a ride out for food. Apparently breakfast is fab but I’ll be out of here by then… Best wishes

In March 2021 I made a reservation at this hotel for February 2022. At the end of November 2021 I received a cancellation notice. There was no explanation why, so I waited 2 days to see if one came. It didn't, so I contacted Hilton customer services to tell them I hadn't cancelled it and I required it to be reinstated. Hilton replied saying they had forwarded my message to the hotel and I should expect to receive a response within 3 days. No response was forthcoming so I had to contact Hilton customer services again. The hotel did eventually respond, more than 4 weeks after I was told they would. The response was not satisfactory. They said they had cancelled my booking because they had accepted other bookings instead, presumably more profitable for them than mine. They offered compensation of 1 free night at an unspecified date in the future. This was clearly not sufficient to cover the immediate extra cost of rebooking the entire stay elsewhere, so I rejected it and told them I required them to pay the full extra cost of alternative accommodation and some modest compensation for the inconvenience they'd caused. The hotel said they would make alternative arrangements for me, but then failed to respond to subsequent e-mails on the subject, despite me getting read receipts confirming they had received them. I had to contact Hilton customer services yet again to get the matter resolved.

On Arrival the hotel does look the part very nice looking building great space for parking. Had a lovely stay room was nice and clean and spacious. We just had two complaints really firstly on the menu they had a rose small med an large price I wanted a small but when my partner came back he said they don't do small so had to get a medium which is strange when it states small on menu! Secondly we ordered and paid food at 940 and at 10 pm my partner asked where it was to be told oh sorry the order didnt go though and the kitchen is closed and was told we could have a packet of crisps and he had a beer too in exchange for the money he paid for the food! so wasn't the best. if it wasn't for this i would have given this hotel 5 stars.

We stayed at the Great House to celebrate a wedding anniversary and overall the hotel didn't disappoint. Check in was easy and our room was ready earlier than expected which is always a bonus. Our room was beautifully decorated with lovely touches such as pots of sweets, free water and some lovely classic touches such as the old phone. We had a river view room which is a bit of a stretch as you have to see over some rooftop vents to see it but that cant be helped and was very nice. The room was absolutely spotless and the bathroom in particular is very high spec which you would expect in a boutique hotel like this. The bathroom was incredibly hot but not a problem at all and a fan had been provided if it was or if the main room became too hot. We were woken up by a fire alarm which went on for about 15 seconds at about 9am and certainly was a bit of a shock and incredibly loud (which is a good thing in an alarm!) but wasn't ideal. The staff didn't mention anything but an apology would have been nice but we didn't raise it so maybe they weren't aware of the problem. The only other problem which we did raise was the service in the Coppa Club which is where breakfast is served. We ate there twice during our stay and both times encountered issues with service. We wouldn't have returned but felt obliged as Breakfast was included. Considering how lovely the hotel is and the service provided is superb it is a shame it is slightly tarnished by the next door restaurant. Overall would definitely recommend staying here and certainly didn't see any of the parties that some people complain about. Hopefully will be back soon.
