Stayed for 3 nights. This hotel is in a great location with ( minutes to the main pedestrian street where there are loads of pubs, restaurants and shops, nice rooms the only thing was the thermostat was set and you couldn’t adjust it and the room got very hot. Breakfast was good and a good variety. Staff nice. Hit and miss with the bar being open late depends on how many people are there at night but overall a good hotel.

Absolutely great hotel clean rooms comfortable beds and friendly staff who where up for a chat drinks are available to 2am night staff where also great to we had room 8 and it was much better than expected don't let the other reviews fool you this is a great spot overall top notch would highly recommend
I stayed here for 3 nights for work in room 357. It’s a gorgeous room. The bed, the throw, the armchair, the space, the bathroom, beautiful towels and sublime toiletries. It was impeccably clean. I loved the walk through dressing room and the rustic pottery mugs. Everything! There’s a load of ‘tech’ in the room, an iPad with information and a premium coffee machine, mega TV which I was frightened to use but it looked grand! The bars and restaurants are wonderful and the staff are fabulous. Breakfast is amazing!! The reasons for my imperfect score are: 1. The lack of a heated towel rail in the bathroom means a daily towel change, which is terrible for the environment 2. The singer in the bar on Saturday night was beyond dreadful. I was having a quiet night on my laptop which was then destroyed by someone who sounded like they were in the worst stages of delivering twins! 3. The # at the beginning of the WiFi password is an absolute pain as UK and French laptops don’t have a that symbol on the the keyboard. Please remove it. Despite the imperfections, I’d
On the positive side, the hotel is easy to reach from the airport, the rooms are large and beds comfortable. The breakfasts are generally of a good standard with a interesting selection. We were able to park easily. Staff friendly and helpful. The areas for us that could have been improved would include the breakfast system for having eggs cooked freshly, as most people abandoned the idea when being told there were many orders waiting to be cooked, so there would be a fair wait. Our room faced West, so by the end of a hot summer’s day, the room was also well warmed! The aircon setting of 19 degrees was hopeless in bringing the temperature down quickly and effectively, and the window only opened a tiny bit. We are still waiting for someone to explain to us why hotels still have winter weight quilts on beds in the summer…we seem to spend more time sleeping on them than under them!!!! Unfortunately this hotel is probably not an option for those on a limited budget.
Great location to visit the wildlife park but it’s not walkable. Room was lovely. It had everything we needed. Peaceful nights sleep too. You have to pre book the leisure club and children are only allowed at certain times meaning we missed out in the morning as my 13yr old wasn’t allowed in until 9am but we had to leave then.
Breakfast: Choice of food was amazing. Absolutely everything on offer. We were a bit rushed because we had the titanic experience booked so had to be punctual. We had to chase up the toast 3 times. It was the only thing my son would eat so couldn’t let it slide. Then it arrived stone cold so they apologised and redid it for him.
Overall it was a lovely hotel and included some nice touches like Lily O”Brien chocolates in the room, a coffee maker and free bottle of wine for Deluxe rooms. Turn down service was a welcome surprise too.
From the minute you arrive, you belong! Everyone goes above and beyond, all staff so friendly and welcoming. Dinner was fantastic as was breakfast. Piano man in lobby was beautiful. Hotel is so festive . The room was out of this world. Christmas tree and garland on the fireplace . Nicest room I have ever stayed in. Well done to all the team . ❤️
Stayed in The Dean for 2 nights in November for my partner's birthday. The hotel is well located by the train station and very walkable to city centre with lots of options for food and drinks nearby. It's a stylish hotel, beautifully appointed lobby and bar, roof-level restaurant/bar and lovely comfortable rooms. Staff were friendly and welcoming as well. I have just a few very specific complaints from our stay: 1. We had a broken toilet seat. We didn't report this to reception as my thought was that housekeeping would have noticed this on re-setting the room for check in and I was disappointed that this wasn't actioned. 2. As mentioned, we were travelling for my partner's birthday. Upon mentioning this on the booking I was contacted with a price list for adding additional 'gifts' to the room. I am not sure I've ever been presented with something like this when mentioning a special event in any hotel or stay I have ever booked and I was quite disappointed that considering the cost of the hotel and the 4-star rating that I had to specifically request a written card and also had to pay extra for a small token to be in the room (2 cocktail vouchers) for my partner. To be clear, I'd have been happy with the card being provided as a thoughtful touch - there's something really tasteless about being presented a list of 'extras' that most other hotels would consider complimentary for special occasion booking. 3. The drinks selection was quite disappointing. Having purchased 2 cocktail vouchers we looked forward to starting our night off with a drink in the bar in the lobby. We were given a menu but all the cocktails were very one-dimensional (sweet and fruity). I asked if it would be possible to order a classic cocktail off-menu and was told 'no'. 4. Most egregiously - there was no brown sauce in the restaurant during breakfast on a Sunday morning. Wild! These are all minor disappointments - overall our stay was wonderful and we had a great time in Cork. Given the cost of the hotel, I think a little work on these few points would go a long way to improving the customer experience - and unfortunately I wasn't able to give feedback directly so Tripadvisor it is - as linked by the hotel!
ผผู้เข้าพักI am in love with their bed!! It’s the best I’ve ever slept on. So in love, I had to investigate to find out who makes their bed: it’s by the natural sleep company. I slept deliciously and I will now get a bed like that for my home.
The employees were quite kind and helpful too.
Clearly, from the bed alone, they invest in quality. It’s a gorgeous building and exquisitely maintained with a magnificent old world charm. I hope this gem lasts for ages and doesn’t succumb to the boring, overly modern, cookie cutter trope a lot of hotels have fallen into.
I will return for sure.
Check into the room, there was a hole in the throw at the bottom of the bed. The handle in the window was falling off. When for a shower then it was going from hot to cold. I opened the drawer for the hair dryer it was full of hair. We went for food then, the food was good, bar staff was nice. Next morning we went for breakfast, we waited over 30 mins for our breakfast to come down even do the restaurant was very quite. We both ordered scrambled egg with hash brown and rashers. When it eventually arrived we got two bowls of scrambled egg and poached egg and hash brown on one plate. We said we didn't order this and the waiter say ye will have this. I said no we order rashers and hash brown. She insisted we take it. We asked for a manager. She said she was very sorry and we would be compensated . We check out, the manager told us it didn't go through in fist transaction. It went through second time we check the receipt it said €40We found out later that evening we had been charged 20. We rang for them to say this and she said she charged us 20 by mistake. But the breakfast was 10 each so that why we got 40 back. Alot of mistakes, by Alot of staff and noone taken responsibility if you ask me.
This is supposedly a three star hotel, but I have stayed in much better two stars. The location is good and the view of the river is nice, but it is very scruffy and grubby in areas. The room was a reasonable size, but the bed did not feel very comfortable. We had a nice view, but it was quite noisy as we could hear voices quite a lot from possibly the room next door. The bathroom size was okay, but there was nowhere to put wash bags or toiletries. I had to put them in the shelving unit outside of the bathroom. The shower was over the bath. The tiling on the walls looks like it has been done quite recently but the grouting all along the edge of the bath is in a very bad way and needs attention. There was also a large greasy hand mark on the wall above the bed that was easily visible in certain light. The bedroom was not serviced on the day in between our two nights there. We don’t mind this but we weren’t told so we weren’t quite sure whether it was going to happen or not. The bins did get rather full. There was no decaf coffee available for the room even though it is available at breakfast. This was the first hotel in 10 on this holiday that we have not been able to get it. The public areas are very, scruffy and grubby looking. All it was take on stairs would be a coat of paint on the banisters and some repair work to the wooden knob at the bottom and that would help. The carpets looked quite dirty as well. See photos. Breakfast was reasonable and there was quite a bit of choice. However, things were all served in a slightly random order. We asked for our bacon to be very well done, but it was extremely under done. It would be helpful if sauces etc were kept at the table rather than having to keep asking for them. The staff on the whole were friendly and helpful. Interestingly all the other hotels I have booked on this tour offered a 100% refund a few days before the day if necessary. This hotel only offers 50% regardless of the reason or timeframe.
I was on business visiting one of my companies sites on Little Island, Cork. The whole experience from check on Monday through to check out on Wednesday was excellent. The high level of service starting with the staff from reception, the coffee stand and restaurant bar were polite, efficient and helpful. In particular, the mercurial Paudi behind the bar - he made the stay even more enjoyable with his wit and conversations that we had. I am recommending this hotel to others, including to myself as I will be returning to Cork every other month and I will be booking into The Radisson Blu and next time using the SPA & other Leisure facilities. It was my pleasure to stay at this hotel. Thanks to all the staff I encountered during my stay. Narinder
Ccynthiaf209I will start with the couple positives.....the beds are comfortable and the front desk employees are friendly. That is about it however. Our room was a good size and the bathroom looked as if it had recently been updated. Unfortunately there was black mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. The shower had no place to put the soap or any other items one usually has in the shower and the hand help shower head could only be used if one held it. (no adjustable stationary setting for a real ”shower” experience.) I went to use the bathtub and found hair around the drain. (short hair..yuck) The rest of the hotel desperately needs a facelift, painting, carpet, furnishing. My shoes stuck to the floor in the breakfast area...something needed to be mopped up. We had bed and breakfast usually a good idea but not here. The selection was poor and meager. We stayed two nights. (in for a funeral and this hotel was the only one nearby that had vacancy and now of course I know why!!!) The second day we went for breakfast at 8:30 (breakfast from 7:30-10am) and they were all out of anything but pink mini donuts and bread rolls in the bread area. I mentioned to a server that they were out of almost all options did they need to restock and she said that was it!!! All gone. Many people arrived after us so it wasn't a case of no one else showing up for breakfast. Even the water pitcher with a lone lemon slice was empty!! The section for the cheese and meat contained two slices of cheese and four of a pressed ham. The cereal section (coco puffs, etc) was just as limited and listless. In an other room next to the breakfast room you could BUY scones and croissants but they were not available to those of us with breakfast included. The manager said you can't have those because those are ”the big ones”. We have travelled all over the world for the past 40 years and I honestly have to say this was one of the worst hotel experiences we have encountered.
