I stayed on the 7th floor and construction above me, made being in my room during the day unbearable. It was so loud, that I couldn't even have a phone conversation because the person on the other line could not hear me. The walls are paper thin too. I was awoken at 0430 by the room next me having the T.V. on. I don't believe it was on loud, it's just that the walls might as well not even be there. And the first day of the trip there was no hot water when I tried to shower at 0630 in the morning. (stayed in Feb 2023)
Checked in earlier in the day on the Bonvoy app. Room was ready before we arrived and we used the mobile key to get right in. 5th floor room, 2 queen beds suite. Perfect size for my daughter and I and a two night stay Microwave and fridge, coffee maker as well The room was pretty quiet and my daughter slept well. I have a terrible back so I ended up sleeping most of the night on the couch. It was probably the most comfortable hotel couch I've crashed on. Breakfast was standard but good. Eggs, bacon/sausage, waffles, cereals, toast, bagels and pastries, fruit, milk, coffee and juice. Plenty of places to sit and it wasn't very busy (went down around 8 am). The area was very clean and well kept. Free parking for our car, plenty of spaces. We got back from our day out to find they had cleaned our room which was unexpected. Overall a really good stay. Friendly staff, good location, safe neighborhood and clean as a whistle. Would definitely come back again.
GginagpaMy spouse and I decided to stay here as a little getaway on a Saturday night. I wish we hadn’t mainly because of the awful experience that we had at breakfast. We arrived in the lobby 25 minutes before the breakfast buffet closed, and the food was nearly gone. There was no fruit, no waffle batter and only one egg omelette to microwave. We had trouble getting the staff out from behind the work area, and when the woman did come out (with name tag “Mama”) she said that they were closing in 20 minutes and there was no reason to bring out more food. I explained that we had paid for our room and would like to have breakfast. She said if she opened up another strawberry syrup, she would have to throw the entire bag away. She finally begrudgingly brought out some food for us to eat, but by the time she did so she was completely closing the breakfast area so we could not get syrup, salt or pepper, etc. She was extremely rude. I do not expect this from a Hilton property. I travel a lot and usually choose Hilton properties – I am a diamond member and usually have much better service. I have tried multiple times to call to the management staff but every time I call they are “not available.” This is the only thing I can think to do is leave this review warning others so that they will be aware before spending their money or time going to this property. Go somewhere else!!!
I remember staying here 20some years ago when Coralville was much smaller and options were much fewer and this place was the best hotel in the area It still is a great hotel which has kept up with the times. I give this five stars as it’s hard to think of anything I would suggest. Beds were comfortable and up to Holiday inn standards. Nice amenities include a big TV, an office area, Keurig, a nice fridge and a safe among other things. Nice shower and bathroom. The pool was nice and large. Staff was super helpful. There are a lot of places to eat in the area- even in walking distance. The breakfast was typical Hotel but was hot and had a lot of choices. If you are not that familiar with the area, things are kind of spread out, but every thing is a short drive in Iowa City and Coralville I was also happily with the price which was less than worse hotels that I have stayed at in the area. My one complaint is I would love to have a little kids tv channel in the lineup (Nick Jr, PBS Kids, Freeform). Otherwise. Five stars
