Reflections Tower Two

Stayed 5 nights in the 4 bedroom penthouse (not sure why it’s called a penthouse as it isn’t on the top floor?). Level 13 of about 20 floors. Apartment was enormous! 4 very large bedrooms, 2 with ensuite. A total of 2 full bathrooms and a separate 3rd toilet. Huge corner lounge-suite, 8 seater dining table and fully equipped kitchen. Perfect position with the beach across the road and close to lots of great cafes and restaurants. Pool was nice but in a wind tunnel. The breeze suited us as it was scorching in Feb but might not be great in other months. Downsides - the wifi didn’t reach 3 of the bedrooms so we had to buy data packs which was disappointing given the price of the apartment. The seals around the windows needs replacing as lots of street noise could be heard through the back bedroom at night.

This is the most disgustingly dirty, poorly maintained accommodation I have ever stayed in. Do not believe what you see in the advertising photos because what I saw is definitely not what I got. Had I read the numerous other scathing reviews before booking I would have gone elsewhere. While the cleaning manager came and attempted to address some issues, most were not a quick fix. The apartment we stayed in, 1503, needs a major overhaul as many furniture items were broken, damaged and not what was advertised. The apartment had not been cleaned properly in a very long time, was not fit for habitation and should never have been let out. The most disturbing issue is the fact management do not seem to care. While reception staff were apologetic, I waited a month for a response from management to numerous emails detailing the issues. Of particular concern is the mould permeating the apartment. This is unhealthy at best and the cause of respiratory illness at worst. Like the many other unfavourable reviews, there will likely be a response from management to this review apologising for the inconvenience and poor experience. That’s not good enough. This resort needs a visit from the Queensland Health Department. Here are some of the sub standard issues I raised with management: 1. Toilet seat has cover missing where it attaches to bowl 2. Flush button on toilet very hard to depress and sticks 3. Soap dish in shower caked in soap and mould 4. Slats missing under mattress, so no support at head of bed so sleeping downhill 5. Filthy on floor behind bed head and bedside tables including thick dust and cobwebs 6. Bed head and base very scratched and worn 7. Wiped my hand over wall above bed head and it was covered in thick dust 8. Cockroach ran across floor and under bed on first night 9. Glass shelf in shower loose, sloping away from wall and toiletries fell off breaking lids 10. Drain in shower mouldy and corroded 11. Drain in floor beside bath mouldy and corroded 12. Shower hose caked in disgusting mould. Cleaner tried to clean this leaving a strong bleach smell we had to live with 13. Mould on roller blinds 14. Couch worn and uncomfortable. Seat Cushions have lost a lot of padding as well as arm rest 15. Disgusting food scraps, mould, crumbs and nail clippings under couch cushions 16. Scratches along the tinting of doors onto deck 17. Stains on coffee table 18. Fridge/freezer dirty inside with food scraps and sticky residue on shelves and vegetable bins. Also ice trays won’t turn and dispense ice 19. Gas cooking burner caked with cooking spills 20. Oven control knobs have settings worn off. No idea what temperature or setting oven was on. Gas hob knobs also no indicators as to which gas ring they operate 21. Plastic drinking tumbler was pitted, probably been used as an ashtray! We discovered this after giving a child a drink in it 22. Annual visits to Reflections Tower 2, over 11 or 12 years now. Beautiful, clean unit, high floor, ocean view as requested when booked last October, staff helpful and friendly. We bring our own top up supplies. Great location, will be back for the 13 visit next year!

We had stayed in the apartments a number of times and booked this stay regardless of the much higher rates compared to other rentals on the beach front. The condition and housekeeping of the building has declined dramatically since our last stay in 2022. Apartment owners should be forced to renovate and upgrade or be taking out of the rental pool. Our first apartment was dirty and not cleaned from previous guests, we were told to move in and the apartment would be cleaned during the day, after a stand up fight with reception staff we were giving another room. The building, hallways and lifts are dirty and never cleaned during our stay. The 2nd apartment we were allocated was dirty, with black mold, window in bedrooms could not be closed, overall more like a dirty 2 star hotel at 5 star prices. The building should be shut down due to the mold issue and is a major health risk for anyone staying there. Mantra and points north apartments offer much more comprehensive rates and their apartments are clean and modern with super friendly staff who were more than happy to show us around. Will choose other accommodation at lower rates for our next stay in Coolangatta.

A truly remarkable place to stay. Ticked all the boxes. The beach/ocean view from a 16F room balcony is simply stunning. Would love to come again.

We have been to Coolangatta for a holiday multiple times. We have stayed in 2 other places before, and one in Kirra. Going forward, if we are lucky enough to return to this beautiful place, we will not stay anywhere else other than Reflections Tower Two. The apartments, facilities, and views are outstanding. Apartment had a king size bed, lovely big bath, chrome cast on the TV (yay!!), coffee pod machine, ceiling fans in the bedrooms AND ducted air conditioning, washing machine and dryer - everything you want or need. Every staff member was extremely friendly and helpful. The spa is beautifully warm, and the pool is mildly heated which is enough for swimming year round. Gym facilities also of great quality. Yes there were some scuff marks on the walls in the apartment, but it was all very clean, and we didn’t know about the commencement of scaffolding works on the building during our stay at the time of booking, but everything else was so good that these things didn’t matter. In short, we absolutely loved it!

Great location, didn't need the car for entire stay. Great view, but windows were not clean. Decor in much need or upgrading, very dated. A few of the curtains needing new hooks so not hanging down. The pool was only open in the afternoon after 3.30pm, but fine as the weather was good and we went to beach each day, but if weather was not great it would of been very disappointing for the kids to not be able to use the spa.

Disasterously incompetent. We booked direct over the phone. Family of 4 Christmas hols. Flew in interstate. On arrival a terse receptionist said "computer says no" and that because the reception did not send us a confirmation our booking was invalid. Not only that, a rude receptionist said this was "not their fault" as we should have known we needed an email from them. Holiday cancelled at great loss.

Property is really clean and tidy. Pool was right temperature even though it’s in a bit of a wind tunnel. Close to everything and great walking opportunities
