"Overall the stay was OK… the bed was comfortable, the carpet r need to be vacuum and shampooed, the bathroom floor needed to be cleaned..Make sure you have slides to wear while you’re in the room… the breakfast was better than other places I have stayed…the weekday front desk staff much nice and friendly than the weekend staff besides the young lady who was there Monday Morning 5/12/25 not so nice ."

"The hotel was in a very nice spot and the view was awesome. The staff is also very welcoming. Hot cocoa and tea available 24 hours a day. The breakfast was a little off. Nothing was in stock and only very few things were available and did not taste very good. Overall it was a good place to stay overnight. Three steps away from the beach."

"This hotel was amazing. The staff was friendly, helpful and courteous. We loved the decorations they had for Mardi Gras and can only imagine what it looks like during other holidays. The rooms were clean and comfortable. And the breakfast was delicious. We throughly enjoyed our stay."

We are also in driving distance from downtown Long Beach with wonderful restaurants, bars, a bakery, and a daiquiri store. Great location to get to all the fun - short drive to casinos, the new Aquarium, 5 min drive to Jones Park Close to the Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum (huge Lego display too!), the Gulfport/ Biloxi airport, the Navy Base, the Gulfport Sports Complex, the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies, and the MS Gulf Coast Community College. And a little over an hour to New Orleans.
This charming cottage is perfect for a family looking for a cozy beach getaway. It has a charming front porch with two rocking chairs. The patio has a deck coming from kitchen door to enjoy grilling on the private outdoor setting and dining table with chairs while listening to birds chirping and fresh outdoor air. This perfect little getaway is just a block from the beach (5 minute walk) and a few minutes drive from everything the Gulf Coast has to offer! The cottage was renovated in 2025 with no expenses spared. The interior of the home expresses those eclectic qualities expected from a renovated antique cottage such as bead board walls and ceilings, real pine floors, and stained glass. The home features three bedrooms containing two queen and two twin beds, two full bathrooms, living area, dining area, high end kitchen, and a granite topped green egg station outside. The home is preferably placed on Gulfport’s 2nd Street, south of the "tracks" as we locals say. This lends easy access both east and west along Highway 90.
The Mississippi Gulf Coast is a locale rich with fascinating history that has become a melting pot of culinary expression and regional customs. The intent of The Shrimp Shack is to share the many joys of the Coast that my family holds dear with those that wish to experience the "Coasty" way of life.
NOTE: This property features a Ring Doorbell device located beside the front door as well as a Ring Flood Light Camera on the north east corner of the dwelling as well as along the ally behind the dwelling. The cameras actively records video and sound when motion is detected by the device or when the video doorbell button is pressed.
