Great place to stay! The staff are very friendly and helpful. The lodging was very clean and comfortable. My wife loved the hot water bag that was provided to sleep with at night. Being able to stay in the Masa Mari Nature Reserve was awesome. We saw cheetahs, zebras, elephants, leopards, lions, hyenas, and hippos, including their babies!
Stayed here for 4 nights during our honeymoon. Firstly most of the staff were absolutely incredible. So helpful and friendly. Only two occasions that weren't great: firstly on day one I was questioned on the room number i gave when trying to put drinks on our room at the bar because 'I'd come from the wrong direction'. Did not appreciate the accusation, could have checked with me in a better way than accusing me in a confrontational manner. Secondly on our last night I'd been ill for a few days and not eating much but came to dinner and planned to have something light. I was told by the waitress to 'sort myself out' and she seemed annoyed with me for being ill which was just lovely. This leads me to my only complaint with the place, the bottled water in the rooms isn't sealed new ones one but green glass reusable bottles and there needs to be covers over the food in the restaurant as lots of flies were about. This does not take away from the fact we also had incredible customer service, especially from Alvin in the restaurant, Jonathan our guide and Mary on reception. Jonathan managed to show us SO MANY animals it was incredible and we were so lucky! So grateful for his incredible guiding! We also loved doing the hot air balloon experience and the champagne breakfast in the Mara was the most incredible experience. Overall absolutely thrilled with our stay here.
Wonderful experience with exceptional personnel who genuinely care for one's every need to ensure 100% enjoyment throughout the visit. Beautifully located inside Masai Mara on the banks of the Talek River with each tent and restaurant overlooking its view. The food is excellent with each delicious dish professionally presented and served this makes for an anticipated enthusiasm for the next meal! Then following a long and highly fulfilling day one falls asleep on the comfortable bed to the valuable bush sounds of hippos snorting and splashing feet away hyenas 'singing' close by and lions roaring regularly. In the morning the same acts as your alarm call! Mark the manager has a true concern for his guests and each small detail is attended to thoughtfully and successfully. I achieved super superb sightings during my 4 nights (wish it were 14) on this unexpectedly amazing first visit to Julia's River Camp although it was my 8th visit to the Mara. The professionalism and consideration cannot be overstated and I have no hesitation in recommending and hopefully return.
