Number Four at Stow

Wonderful location, great facility and helpful staff so a shame that an overdue mattress update made for uncomfortable sleeping. Our mattress had two clearly visible sags. Make this upgrade and the place is 5 stars

A very nice hotel on the outskirts of Stow-on-Wold. The staff service was excellent. The breakfast was very nice. The attic style room felt small.

This inn has it all! Beautiful property, staff who really care about you, location, really quiet rooms plus a great breakfast daily and a dinner so good we ate there twice!

Well how glad were we that we had two nights here? It was a fabulous hotel with super comfortable beds and little extras like daily water bottles, coffee pod machine, hot chocolate and biscuits. Very clean and comfortable. All staff were super responsive and polite. Breakfast was great, cooked to order. We ate in the Yew Tree Restaurant in the hotel on the first night and wow, what a great choice that turned out to be. Price is typical of nice evening places. Sadly I don't have a photo of our meal or the menu to see exactly what it was, but mine was definitely fish. Both the main and the dessert were nothing but an explosion of flavour in my mouth and the best meal I have had in a very long time, and we dine out regularly. Bellissimo!! I cannot recommend this place highly enough for Cotswolds accommodation and dining

We spent 10 days in Stow and dined at Number Four twice. Each time was thoroughly enjoyable. The staff was friendly and welcoming. This is a high end fine dining restaurant so if you're looking for a quiet upscale dining experience, this is the spot.

We stayed here for a night in May and absolutely loved it. Staff were helpful, kind and very accommodating and all did a great job. The restaurant was fantastic! Cute little rooms with everything you need - would love to come back!

My husband and I really enjoyed our 4 night stay at Number Four. The best aspects were the amazing breakfasts including fresh fruit salad, yoghurts, croissants with delicious full English breakfast and fresh coffee. The Ivy Restaurant was great too – we enjoyed dinners there on two evenings. Then there were the friendly and helpful staff especially Eddy, the General Manager. Two members of staff went the extra mile to help my husband with an e-charger problem at 10 pm! Thanks guys. Briefly, the other positives: contemporary, well designed communal areas, immaculately clean room, comfortable king size bed, crisp white linen, Molten Brown toiletries, (a real bonus!) Lots of nice touches such as tea/coffee making machine, biscuits, a fridge to store booze! still/sparkling water, a pleasant grassed area with fabulous views to sit and enjoy a drink in the evening sun. Croquet set, boules and garden skittles available. Two e-chargers in the car park – sufficient for the number of e-cars. We had a problem with a Pod Point charger but it was operator error! Helpful tips: if you’re looking to stay in an ancient hotel or inn in the middle of a Cotswold village/town then this isn’t for you. The location is great for exploring the Cotswolds but it’s 2 miles to Stow on the Wold – you can’t easily walk as it’s up a fairly steep hill. The standard rooms are a bit small. Best to upgrade to a suite if you can.

I booked last minute as a surprise birthday treat for my friend who had not visited the area before. We were not disappointed and the hotel was just perfect. I had looked at lots of other options but was not disappointed with my choice.

This was our 2nd time staying at Number Four, and it was just as good as the first! We had a lovely time chilling in the bar area, enjoying a stroll around Stow in the sunshine, and relaxing in the cosy well-appointed room. The bed is VERY comfortable! We didn't eat dinner in the restaurant this time, but the breakfast was delicious, with plenty of cooked-to-order choices, and a buffet too. The staff, as before, are so helpful, friendly and personable! We will 100% be back again!
