เรามาพักที่โรงแรมนี้ 5 ครั้งแล้ว แต่ละครั้ง วาดภาพโดยวิวที่มหัศจรรย์มาก มองข้ามทะเลสาบ Lugano และภูเขา คงให้ 1 ด้วยเหตุผลที่ว่าคือวิว! แต่ตัวสิ่งอํานวยความสะดวกไม่คุ้มเกินสองดาว! เสียดายคุณภาพของโรงแรมลดลงอย่างมากตั้งแต่การมาครั้งแรก ประสบการณ์การรับประทานอาหารที่เคยเป็นอันดับต้นๆ แต่ตอนนี้ค่อนข้างปานกลาง เชฟเปลี่ยนไปอย่างชัดเจน! อาหารเช้าก็ไม่มีอะไรเหมือนที่เคยเป็นแน่นอน: ไม่มีสลัดผลไม้สด ไม่มีมูสลี่ และมีแต่ yogurt ถ้วยเล็กๆ น้อยๆ ที่ซื้อมาซื้อเอง ไม่มีอะไรร้อนเลย นอกจากไข่ที่ต้องต้มเอง ไม่มีน้ําผลไม้สดแม้ - มีแต่ถังน้ําลงรุ่น ผิดหวังสุดๆ! ไม่สมกับที่คะแนนที่เหมือนจะให้ตัวเอง! ส่วนการบริการก็เช่นกันก็ปานกลางมากๆ เราฉลองครบรอบที่ยิ่งใหญ่มากและสองวันก่อนเราขอโต๊ะเฉพาะแต่ไม่ได้รับอนุญาตจอง! เลย เราจองที่ร้านอาหาร funicular ใกล้ๆ (ห่างจากโรงแรมแค่ 1 กม) ซึ่งวิวเดียวกัน ไวน์ราคา HALF เหมือนเดิม อาหารอร่อยมากและบริการเป็นกันเองมาก! คืนแรกเราโดนนั่งโดยประตูระเบียง - ฝนตก และไม่มีที่นั่งตรงระเบียง ทุกครั้งที่เราขยับแขนก็เปิดประตูอัตโนมัติข้างๆ ! เสียดายดี! อีกอย่างที่เราพบที่น่าตื่นตาตื่นใจและซึ่งผมคิดว่ามันเปลี่ยนไปตั้งแต่ครั้งก่อนที่เราไปคือไม่มีบาร์ที่เหมาะสม!!! เย็นที่สองของเราลงมาดื่มก่อนมื้อเย็น - 2 คู่ - และเราได้ที่นั่งริมทางเข้าห้องอาหาร เราทั้งหมด 4 คน อยู่บนม้านั่งข้างๆ กัน! แปลกมาก! คนเดินผ่านเราตลอด! ากชั้นบนมีห้องพักที่ไม่ได้ใช้โดยพื้นฐานไม่กี่ห้อง คือ ‘library’ และ ‘pool room’ ซึ่งสามารถเปลี่ยนเป็นบาร์ได้อย่างง่ายดาย! นี่ไม่ใช่สี่ดาวอย่างที่โรงแรมอ้าง! นี่แหละช่วงโควิด และdi มีข้อจํากัด : สระน้ําไม่เกิน 10 คนต่อครั้ง! ฮา!!! ไม่มีคนเช็ค! มันแน่นเกินไป! สรุปคือ โรงแรมอยู่ในความต้องการการยกหน้าอย่างรุนแรง! ห้องพักมีเฟอร์นิเจอร์ à la IKEA (ไม่ใช่แค่ห้องพักเท่านั้น! แก้วน้ําและโคมไฟห้องอาหารก็มาจาก Ikea ด้วย!!! นี่จึงไม่ใช่ 1!!!) ดิฉันมา 5 ครั้งแล้ว - ไม่มีอีกแล้ว! ทําไรขัดสิ่งต่างๆ ขึ้นมา คือ แนะนําเลยค่ะ!!

Perfect hotel! Exceptional service, beautiful location & excellent food! Look no further this is the best hotel! Every single staff member was superb from the bellman, front desk, spa, pool, bar & restaurants. A special thank you to Franco, Rudy, Tarchi, Marianna, Giuseppe & Thorne (hopefully we didn’t miss anyone) that provided service way above and beyond. They made our stay very special and enjoyable. the best hostel experience of my travels. the hotel rooms are on the upper floors of a beautiful Villa right behind the Lugano train station (5 minute walk). the hostel rooms are in the cellar. one communitity bathroom with 2 showers and 2 WC and 3 separate rooms with bunk beds. small pillows, sheet and blanket are included. community kitchen and large fridge for food and drinks. the MOST AMAZING POOL! with sun lounge beds, small bar and towels. for a summer visit to Lugano, it is best value stay and very easy to find.

While the overall stay was comfortable the service especially the front desk was disappointing. For starters the reception has a welcome drink which guests can consume when they arrive, however if a guest wants to have it otherwise - they are expressly stopped by the front office staff staring that ‘you can drink only at check- in not otherwise’. Wow! I found that rude and shocking. 0 points on hospitality for that. Late checkout - no flexibility to checkout late even by 30 mins. The front desk staff kept calling us inspite of a request to checkout at 12 noon latest 12.15 pm but no later. If you’re sitting in the lobby waiting to leave for your next meeting after checking out the looks from the staff were as if you’re unwanted. Your stay is over Just Get Out - don’t hover around. Complimentary drinks at the bar - served as if they’re doing us a favour and if you don’t consume the drinks the same as on checking in the front office staff will confirm with bar whether you have indeed consumed the complimentary drinks or not before renewing or issuing a fresh voucher! They don’t trust you and take your word for it! I personally found that offensive.

When you see the beauty of this resort, you expect a unique up-to-standard experience. And then you get there, most of the staff will be very nice. And then everything else falls short. We drove an hour and a half from Milan to get to this place. The photos and display online showed that it was worth it. The pool area is fantastic. The view from up top is superb. And then you get to your room, and you’re thinking “this doesn’t feel like a $350 per night kind of room 🤔”. We call downstairs asking to get something to eat. And there it goes, the horror story of Italian Villa type hotels: kitchen hours. You don’t make kitchen hours you don’t eat. Period. But you’re thinking “when a hotel gives itself a 5 star rating, isn’t it required to serve food 24/7?”. Anyway, “kitchen is closed” was the imposed reality. So we had to wait. Dinner time came, we were tired so we asked to order to the room. Now I’m all for a luxury resort charging me high for fine dining. But I got 4 raviolis, and a small portion of what was supposed to be risotto, but that looked like army rice swimming in a lot of liquid, with lumps of something on top. The raviolis tasted bitter, and the risotto was simply repulsive. And they priced those at around $80. Please look at the photos and see what I mean. At breakfast, where the staff were more than courteous, we then discovered that the kitchen was indeed sub-standard at this place. The food items were okay. Budget hotel level okay. But that is not good enough for a resort at this price, is it? I mean for me to have a mini croissant and not have another, tells you something about how not that great they are. Same goes for the cakes etc. Sub-standard. We ended up returning the food and ordering a cheese sandwich and fries. Which we then had for lunch the next day, because, we arrived to the restaurant 6 minutes after “kitchen closed”. Even the fries were not great. Can you imagine a kitchen screwing up on fries? On the third day we had an emergency back home so we had to leave. We asked them to cancel the third night, and we were going to leave at 9am which is way before checkout time. They refused. We then asked to pay half a room rate as penalty, but the full rate was too much. Especially that we had stayed two nights already. They refused. And so we got charged $350 for a night we didn’t use. I believe that this hotel was beautifully designed, then handed over to management (or the owners themselves) that is not fit for such premises. And cannot hold the required standard. What a disappoin**ent.

Is was a loverly experiance due to the fact, that not only the hotel is build and decorated with tast, but also the staff was very helpfull and caring. It feels like one is in a privat home and not hotel, because there are only 18 rooms. We liked that quiet feeling and the few is breathtaking, specialy at night or in the morning.

From 30 - 31 Oct 2021 we stayed in this hotel 1min walk from Mendrisio Train station and 1min walk from Fox Town Outlet Shopping. As we traveled during the Corona Pandemic, we went for outlet shopping to Fox Town, the hotel is nothing special but was good for a 1 night stay. Summary: The bed was comfortable and we slept good, however movable, no choice of pillows offered. The bathroom was good, the shower beam was great, from both the rain-shower and the hand-shower. The numbers: -Price/Quality: 3*** of 5***** (155/$ per 1 nights + 17$ city tax per person = 35$ (translated from 30.= CHF) -Price: $$$1/2 of $$$$$ -Quality: 2.5*** of 5 -Service at Reception: 3*** of 5 -Service Overall: 3*** of 5 -Services Breakfast: the choice isn’t varied. It was a very basic breakfast, they could have easily made a personal breakfast service they had plenty personal, also any additions where $$$$$ [french toast 10$, pancakes 13$]. -Wheelchair Accessible: 4**** (elevator) -Overall rating: rather 2.5** then 3***, disappointing mostly was the breakfast and the restaurant aside had no ambiance we didn’t go there but went to Il Fortuna 350m walk (other side of train station), room was good size, good decent bathroom and shower (fit 2 persons), low quality TV (outdated), pool was in renovation we think, looked abandoned. Hotel looked very outdated but rooms semi modernized. Restaurant We didn’t use looked “dead” no ambiance, we went to another restaurant that was recommended by Google maps (see above). Breakfast was between 06:30 and 10:00 - limited time, choices were limited and of low quality, we even saw supermarket brand yogurts served. Cold-cuts were only pork, no salmon and turkey so if you were vegetarian or a non-pork eater you would be left with little choices... Room Our room was 623 on the 6th floor, there is only one elevator and the floors 1-5 seem not to exist. The bed was comfortable, 200cm by 100cm - 2 beds could be moved together to form one. The room was a good size and we slept well. The room had a chair and a work desk. Plenty of power-outlets (next to the TV wall, on the side). The room had no coffee machine and no separate water kettle (boiler). Bathroom The bathroom was of decent size with a nice shower (fit 2 persons). The bathroom had standard amenities, but no Q-tips or cotton pads. A blow dryer of low quality was available. No bathrobes were available, no free slippers. Overall The location is good if you are visiting the outlet center/shopping mall, the room size bigger then most, no balcony, and no view. However you are within 10min walking at Fox Town. We think the hotel is a medium quality, provided great sleep, the price is too steep this could have been 100 and the additional tax makes the experience worse, the hotel should offer the price incl. tax on ***********.
