7A Ranch

The cabin with the 3 beds were perfect. The 2 rooms gave some privacy. The covered porch was very nice especially with the drizzling rain for some of the time. It was a great getaway!

We were disappointed with our stay at 7A. We rented a downstairs room in the Classic River Quad. The booking mentions shared walls, but didn't mention that every single sound comes through the walls. If someone had been staying above us as well we would not have stayed. Thankfully we figured out how to make the wall AC unit stay on continually to help with some of the noise. The booking also mentions a small bathroom, and they are not kidding. You can barely turn around in the shower. These units are old, with light coming in underneath the doors, the patios are not kept clean, and the towels provided are very thin and scratchy. For $250 per night, our expectations were not met. The river is very close and looked beautiful, we did use the firepit outside the unit (with purchased firewood), and the bed was clean and fairly cozy. They provide a coffee pot, one filter, some artificial sweetener, but you have to bring your own coffee and regular sugar if you so prefer. It looked like the individual cabins on the property were nicer, and If we ever decide to stay here again, we will not be staying in the River Quad.

This is a good place to go for family reunions. We have been here several times and would recommend checking it out. Despite this year and last year's issues with our lodges, we would reserve there again. We would highly recommend you ask the staff to verify all major appliances are working, and other things that are important to your stay. Saying that, they are very prompt coming to you to fix whatever they can, easy to work with and very professional. We're not sure they checked this year though as we had unfixable issues with one of the hot water heaters and one of the two public toilets inside the lodge being out of order.

Our room in the pioneer village was so cool. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool and river were beautiful. The train, ice cream shop, arcade and museum on site kept our kids busy. We all played hide and seek at night in the pioneer village which was a very cool experience.

We stayed in Cabin #10 up on the hill overlooking the Blanco River. These are cinderblock cabins with 1 bedroom but a second bed in with the kitchen. There's nothing upscale about these cabins but the view of the river, outdoor patio and your own firepit with picnic table and chairs gives you the feeling of camping out. There are other updated sites but we wanted this view. The cabin was very clean and kitchen well appointed for cooking. We ordered a bundle of firewood and used our firepit the first night. They do have a very nice pool with a splashpad for the kids but the pool is not heated. We also rode the Train on Sunday and it's a very nice scenic trip. We really enjoyed our stay and all of the staff members are extremely helpful and friendly.

The property itself is beautiful. So many activities available, we did not have time to even get into town, but next time will try to do a little shopping. We managed to fit in some pickle ball and volleyball at the sport court. The kids moved some mud at the river and had a blast wading around. Our beds were super comfortable and our cabin was well laid out. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and will be back soon.

Every year we take our theatre students on a retreat to the 7A Ranch. We have now stayed at The Cactus, The Bigstar, and The Moonlight Lodges. All have been phenomenal places to build relationships with our students. The office staff has always been kind and prompt. The area and kitchen are great for group events and team building. We would definitely recommend the 7A Ranch, its staff, and the Pioneer Town as a place to take teens to build stronger relationships

Calm, quiet, & quaint. We stayed in one of the cabins right on the waterfront side & loved it. The cabin was clean, the beds were comfy, & the scenery was gorgeous. Very peaceful. We Highly recommend.

It’s a really cool place in a unique setting. I mean, staying in a ghost town was definitely different and cool. The bed was way too bouncy and the bath towels were small and worn thin. If you can get past those two things (which we did), you’ll love the serenity of the river and the wildlife.
