A beautiful beachfront hotel that is perfect for romantic getaways and a cheaper alternative, yet still luxury, to standard 5 star hotels. Location wise the hotel isn’t great as it’s very remote from the strip/city centre and taxi prices are not particularly cheap in Madeira. The rooms are spacious and stunning, well worth it with a great selection for the breakfast buffet and plenty of restaurants/options for dinner. A lovely love band/musician plays every night which is also great. Overall a wonderful stay with much friendly staff, however if you are looking to do much sightseeing in Madeira, this hotel is not the best option unless a significant amount is left for travel.

Loved the pool area. Its quite a bit of a drive into Funchal, which many of our tours were located. A lot of the workers didnt know how to work the stove. It took about an hour for someone to come and finally figure it out. Must have a car or transportation is hard to come by. Very close to a supermarket, about a 10min walk. If not for the pool and ocean view, i would choose a better situated hotel, as far as convenience to extracurricular activities.

Great place to relax, we got a room with the Ocean view that was very nice. Overall fantastic experience, the only one downpoint was food - found it overpriced compared to the quality and restaurants offering that is 5 min away.

Modern and spacious with exceptional customer service. We really enjoyed our stay in a room with sea view, it was simply wonderful. If we ever go back to Madeira this is the hotel will stay in.

Very nice hotel, great location. Service and food are good, but not at the level of a 5 star hotel. Especially at the Trapiche restaurant on the terrace, service was very slow and the staff not very professional, as they spent more time talking to each other in the corner than paying attention to the guests (it felt to a certain extent that they were not permanent staff or that they were training?).
The Spa and the staff in the spa were top notch.
As for the room, it was very nice but I did not realise it was one of those new design rooms where the shower is in the room and has no doors. While this was not a problem for me as I was on my own, the issue was not having a door, as the whole room got humid from the steam of the hot water and I could hear the water dropping at night after taking a shower. Could also hear my next door neighbours shower in the morning, which woke me up a couple of times.
Also strange was the fact that to get to the indoor swimming pool, you had to walk outdoors in the terrace (not the case if you paid extra to use the spa facilities). So not great for a rainy day or when it's not too hot. Felt like the indoor pool was an after-thought in the hotel design.
Overall, nice hotel but not necessarily as great quality as I was expecting from a 5 star.
