The hotel itself initially appears quite smart but is in a very scruffy area. The room appeared very nice but was poorly serviced, with missing coffee, cups, spare toilet roll, and glasses - reception staff were very helpful in replacing them but they should all have been there already. The shower room is small but functional. We were in a tour group and unlike all the other hotels which offered an extensive dinner buffet, we were given a no choice set menu which was just plonked in front of us cafeteria style, and wasn’t great. The bar service was extremely limited. The breakfast buffet was pretty good. The worst thing was an intermittent noise in our room (101, yes really) which kept us awake. It turned out to be the kitchen elevator which they were perfectly aware of, so it’s really disappointing that they put people in rooms that suffer such noise disruption. The hotel seems poorly managed with no real concept of international guest expectations.
