Hotel Calimera Fido Gardens

Came back yesterday from Cala dor gardens, we went as a group of 10 (9 adults 1 child) we had a lovely time. 5 minutes walk from a small beach, and maybe 10-15 minutes to another beach, lots of shops near, there’s also a place 2 minutes round the corner which has crazy golf and go karting, again it is aimed at kids but I did have a go on the go karts haha. You can get the train to Cala Dor which is €3.50 for adults €2.50 for kids under 12. Or a taxi which costs around 6-7 euros. The rooms were lovely and clean all looking over the pool area in block 9 & 8. The outside of the building did look a bit tired but nothing major. At meal times you had lots of choice, the only downside was the scrambled egg for me. But I loved having the choice of sitting indoors or outdoors and there was plenty of space. The bar staff were lovely and even put Beatles on for us when we all dressed up in our matching shirts for our old man’s 60th birthday. There’s two decent sized pools and plenty of space, there’s also the splash park located at the back of the hotel just over the road which is mainly for the kids but has the comfy sun loungers The animation team were brilliant and the highlight of the holiday. Teis (sorry if I’ve spelled that wrong!!) Mara, Freda and again I’m sorry I’ve got the other guys name. They were all brilliant and put on good entertainment, they spoke English Spanish and German whilst we were there and did ask everyone where they were from so just speak up- so ignore the reviews that say it’s only aimed at guests from Germany as the team did their best to accommodate every nationality. On Monday night I think it was animation vs guests where they got one of our group and a two other guests up and had such a fun night. The animation team have Saturdays off but they are there Sunday - Friday 11am-11pm so they deserve a day off!! Hopefully, going back next year but no dates available yet. Would love for the same animation team to be there but after speaking to them they are hired through a separate company and not the hotel directly and I think they’d had a few animation team change overs, over the season. But honestly 5 star animation team thank you so much for making our holiday even more enjoyable. (Please pass this on to them)

Just thought would do a review on Hotel Cala d'Or Gardens I read such negative reviews was so nervous about out stay last week! But honestly was brilliant children had best time as did we. Food was delicious and so much to choose from and different variety every night. I have extremely fussy eaters and chef used to put a plain margarita pizza in soon as he saw him as knew he only ate that. Staff was so welcoming and helpful as was the cleaners, bar staff all amazing my son loved giving tip on last night and being able to honk the horn lol. If any point i could pick one thing was that the pool closed at 6 would of liked to be able to have option. Soon as dates are released for next year I shall be booking again. Was six of us in our family and everyone had brilliant time. Beds were comfy, fresh towels daily, air con was fine for us in September just awaiting next year to he available to book. Thank you

The kids pool is amazing, u can spend the whole day there without getting bored. Also the staff was really sweet and child friendly. JoJo from the animation team really made my sons stay 10 times better!! She brings really positive energy ! :)

Great times had by our mixed group of friends. Not sure what the other folk that leave bad reviews really expect? It’s not a 5 star hotel. It doesn’t charge 5 star hotel prices. Yes, it’s a little dated in areas but we found the whole place to be immaculately clean. The housekeeping team were friendly and accommodating. The bar staff were great. We were all inclusive. You have to pay €1 deposit on a (hard) plastic cup when you have a drink. What a fantastic idea this is! There were no dirty glasses left on tables. No flys. No waspies. No smashed glass around the pool or bar area. No bar staff having to collect glasses instead of serving. What a fantastic idea! Food was plentiful with a big variety to cater for the multi national guests. Reception staff very helpful too. Good bars and restaurants a short stroll away from the hotel. Never normally go back to the same place twice but would happily re-visit this hotel and resort again.

Nice stay on a good hotel, nice bed,not like soft in sweden but we had a good sleep every night! A little bit noice room,beacuse of thin doors of wood, but people was quiet after 22.30,so we had a good sleep. Kidz club was great for our 5 year old daughter, disco every evening,face painting,drawing,games, also bingo and quiz for adults after the disco! Very nice and happy stuff at the hole hotel. Good food and desserts! Pool was great but a little cold in the end of october, but our 3 kids (5,12,14) loved it anyway! Nere shops and restaurants, like 5 min walk. 1 beach in 5 min walk and 1 beach 15 min walk! 35 minutes walk to cala dor center on the otherside of the harbor,a very nice walk.

Lovely stay at nice resort wonderfully located in Cala D’or. All Inclusive was very good - a wide selection of dishes and drinks; and we never missing anything. Fantastic pool areas, and OK padel & tennis facilities. Two wonderful beaches are within few minutes of walking distance, and a morning walk on the cliffs is magnificent. The hotel is a little dated, but was hardly noticed, as everything else was perfect!

Entertainment is poor they need to spend some money and get some good act's in the Entertainment team do there best. The food is ok hotel is nice and clean and staff are lovely also ready to help the Entertainment let's the hotel down my son had an accident in the pool and the staff where brilliant I would like to think all the lifeguards and the director of the hotel for all their help they come up to me a few to check how he was doing they where fantastic thank you again for everything you done x

Decent hotel with nice rooms cleaned daily. Ample space to sunbathe around the pool with lots of sun loungers and no towel reservation. Helpful staff all round especially at reception who were kind enough to move my elderly parents to a ground floor room after being on the 2nd floor with no lift for 2 days. Good location too although a little too quiet for us at Cala Egos. However although the food was nice and quite a good choice, it was almost never hot! Especially the breakfast. Not a lover of cold baked beans, tomatoes, scrambled eggs etc etc and same again at lunch and dinner. At times the food didn´t seem plentiful either, so if you didn´t get into each sitting early, you were left with what was leftover as it wasn´t always replenished, so at times very disappointing.
