Fyri Resort Hemsedal

Pool club was amazing!! Positives: - lunch was amazing with gluten free options! - staff were polite and helpful (genuinely!) - price was good considering lunch was included - the pools were warm - they pools weren’t crowded - the air temp inside was warm Could be improved: - the changing rooms were tiny (although I assume most people are residents?? We weren’t) - there was only one toilet for women (I think the same for men, with what my husband told me - there are no changing cubicles/private showers if you prefer privacy Overall, an amazing experience and one we will probably repeat next year!!

I received a recommendation to try Fyri and checked the reviews before I booked. I saw a LOT of poor reviews but figured how bad can it really be. The reviews are correct, the attitude of the staff is just as poor as the reviews say. Upon check in, actually upon walking in through the front door, you are hit with an overwhelming fragrance from diffusers in the lobby. I immediately noticed the smell and hoped that maybe it was just in the lobby and the room itself was fine. I tried, I actually really tried to make it work. I completed the check in, and walking through the lobby to the stairs the migraine set in. Now let me say this isn't just a light fragrance, this is an overwhelming musky intense knock-you-over smell. The diffusers are in the lobby, the smell is in the hallways, in the stairwell to the room and it is enough to cause intense reactions in those sensitive to fragrance. Within five minutes of being there, I developed such an intense migraine if felt like my head was on fire and I could barely get a deep breathe in. We both looked at each other and said this simply isn't manageable. I exited the building and never set foot back in there again. We asked to speak with management (outdoors!) and explained that I suffer from asthma and migraines and wasn't aware that they are pumping fragrance through the hotel as that wasn't indicated on their website (they say they do mention they have a signature scent...but this isn't just a "scent"...this is INTENSE fragrance...they are 100% aware of what they are doing, but they simply don't care if it's intolerable for their guests). They said sorry, can't refund the room. Now we had driven three hours to this remote location and there are not a lot of options left during ski week. But staying in a place that gives you a massive migraine isn't an option so we were forced to leave. This is where I think it is worth warning others that if you stay there, you will be met with a wall of fragrance that will linger on your clothes, get in your hair and ruin a holiday for anyone that has a sensitivity to fragrance. What really trips me out is seeing how short sighted management was in not understanding that the hotel they offer to guests can actually make some people sick...and they just don't give a darn that you can't handle their perfume. Their response: Sorry, can't help you. When I spoke with management I said there is a difference between right and wrong. I'm not saying I don't like the resort, I'm saying I physically can't stay in a place that is giving me migraines and bronchial spasms. I just want to save others from making the same mistake I did. I think if they had approached the situation with even the slightest bit of understanding I wouldn't have taken the time to write the review. But buyer beware, their customer service and overall attitude is cold and unpleasant. Just be aware of this if choosing this hotel. If you love perfume and rude staff, this is the right p

I didn’t absolutely love Fyri but did enjoy our stay. The quirks…like the constant Muzak does get a bit much… but, if you’re in a festive mood and don’t mind constant loud music, this is the place. The buffet breakfast has a fantastic and fresh selection. Dinners in the restaurant were also good (although it would be best to have more of a selection when staying several nights as it was the same for all four nights). The location is terrific and the shuttle stops right outside the door. Overall, it’s a bit of a scene…but still a nice place to stay when in Hemsedal.

Super good food. Great location. Amazing staff. When in Hemsedal, Fyri Resort is one of the best places to be. The food is very good. The wine is better. The pool Club is amazing. And the stars of the place, the wonderful staff. They really do what they can, to make your stay a plesant one.

My husband and i spent a couple of days here for Easter. The hotel is very nice with great amenities like the pool area and reception with the fireplace. Also, the staff is helpful, customer serviced and very friendly. The restaurant is also great with tasty food. So all good in this sense, HOWEVER, the room was noisy with several people partying in the rooms next to us. Also, quite a few guest were loud in the hallways. The music in the hotel is also quite annoying and tiring. To be honest, I knew Hemsedal is a party place, but would have never expected this from a luxury hotel. A random person managed to enter our room while we were sleeping very early in the morning! Also, the room was very cold with no possibility to adjust the strength of the ventilation. You can change the temperature, but this didn’t help. If you turn it completely off then it gets stuffy. Very disappointed, as I was not able to relax properly.

Had a group with lots of people for 6 days and it worked out perfectly. The facilities, rooms and food is excellent and the hotel is really a nice place both to relax and work. The pool club is very nice. Staff is helpful, friendly and always smiling,

Exceptional place, everything was excellent, service, room, bed, pool club We arrived and everything was arranged, we could just relax, they really know how to make you feel special 😊 We had amazing danish waiter in Restaurant, she was kind, friendly and knowledgeable.

The architecture, design, furnishings, and decoration are fabulous as you can see on my attached photos. The lobby is like a fairy-tale - lots of sofas, games, bars etc on many levels. The resort looks like a million dollars resort and the views from the big windows are breathtaking. Our cool room (suite no 325) had fantastic views as had three large windows. Comfortable big bed and a lovely bathroom. The restaurant is top quality with an amazing layout and view to the surrounding mountains. The buffet breakfast has a fantastic and fresh selection. The pool club was great, you get a three-hour slot so arrive on time. Double day beds to relax. Tropical indoor pool and outside pool. The architects of the pool complex should be sent back to school. The changing rooms were minute and overfilled with people who couldn’t move. Too few showers and loos. The pool area was crammed with loungers and people, so much so that the pool side furniture virtually fell into the pool. The whole idea of the Club, with 2 hour spots for groups, gives a bad experience even though the pool etc. would be lovely with only a few people. Lunch was messed up. Our order didn’t arrive for 55 mins even though we were the first to arrive for the lunch. My wife hadn’t eaten all day and the delay led to real frustration. The food itself was OK, perhaps 6/10. We had booked Pool Club and lunch for 2 for my wife’s birthday. Not a great success.
