The Royal Oak Hotel

Comfy bed,lovely hot powerful shower,good friendly staff,great location and can’t complain at the price so have stayed before and will again

This was our annual club trip to Ramsgate, our group was 18 and we chose the Royal Oak Hotel in the harbour area. The booking proceedure and attention paid by all at the hotel was of a great standard, location was perfect to soak up the great bustling harbour life during the day and night. lots of good restaurants within a short walk for breakfast and dinner. I have had nothing but praise from the guys and we are already hoping to stay at the Royal Oak for our next trip. Well done all at the Hotel.

Good location, clean and value for money. Not going to suit anyone who dislikes noise though - party room and disco on the same floor until midnight (noise easily covered by having tv on) and then other guests coming back in early hours talking from around 2-3 am (could get this anywhere, but if you choose to stay in a heavy nightlife area, then might be more expected - although not helped by thin walls). No lift as others have mentioned. The downsides mentioned were not big issues for me though. I was comfortable enough and bed was clean. It’s not luxury accommodation, but overall good value for money given central location. Staff were friendly.

I was delighted to be upgraded to a large first floor room overlooking the harbour. Decor tended toward baronic, but thats ok. A spa bath but didn't try it. I was out a lot and only met staff on arrival and never managed to express my appreciation. I was there to explore Ramsgate on a round the coast by public transport trip. Ideal spot near bus stops, harbour and town centre. Tempted to return.

Matthew was lovely, the rooms are dated but clean, there was a chip in the sink and the bathroom door handle was squeaky, on previous stays we have had bottled water in the room but not this time and there was a pack of two biscuits, not much for two guests and the tea/coffee was not replenished for a two night stay.

Cosy place, beautiful city. Got a free upgrade to sea view room. Room was cosy and clean. Very quiet despite facing the street. The host was very nice. Wetherspoons is right across the street, according to Google, it’s the biggest one in the country.

Lovely stay, hotel is within walking distance to the beach which meant I was able to enjoy the beach more. It’s also conveniently located to a local shops and restaurants, nearest large supermarket Asda, is about 16min walk. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Overall pleasant stay will be my choice for future trips to Ramsgate.

Stayed on a Saturday night and kept awake by loud music till 3 maybe 4 am in the morning this was from there function room. Parked outside property and then cars double parked blocking me in could not go out in my car. No teaspoons in room went to reception at 9pm when realised nobody there. Woken at 8am by fire alarm. Heating on full blast turned down on rad but could not even open any of the 3 windows

It was really nice that it was by several pubs and restaurants. Also really nice vintage furniture and bath right next to the sea. The only problem was that our toilet seat was cracked and broken by the hinges, so we had to be careful not to have the seat fall off.
