This is our go-to hotel when in the Milwaukee area. The staff is friendly and helpful. We love the outdoor seating areas. Breakfast is enough to get you going. The coffee is good. We appreciate that the staff read the comments we left in our reservation booking and did what they could to accommodate. There are 2 restaurants on site. Champs is connected to the hotel, so you do not have to go outdoors to enjoy a beverage and/or food. You have to go outside to reach the other restaurant. There are nice walking areas around the neighborhood. Plenty of restaurants in a short driving distance. If you are traveling on I94 it's a quick off/on from this hotel.
We had this hotel chosen for us due to an event we were attending. It was not a good experience and I will never go back, nor will I recommend it to anyone. Our event had special pricing for rooms, however when I contacted the hotel to book, they told me all of the rooms were booked for that pricing. However, they were more than happy to charge me $180 for a room that certainly would have qualified (it was the same room type they were offering at the supposed ”group rate”). Once we arrived, it was not very clear where the main entrance was, where to park or which entrances went with which wing. Signage is definitely lacking. Once we got to our room, instantly upon entering, it smelled ”weird” - not really a smell I could describe but obviously not normal. The toilet did not flush unless the handle was held down for longer than normal and the bathroom had no garbage can. Those things are all minor annoyances that I could have dealt with but the final straw was the absolutely DISGUSTING bedding. Photos attached. The down comforter on the bed had a crusty texture to it and was absolutely filthy. We did not even want to sleep in the bed after seeing this and slept with no covers on. Additionally, the ceiling directly above the bed had paint chips flaking off that looked as if they would drop on us at any time. For $180/night, I expect much, much more. A clean bed for starters. Do not stay here!
I was in town for a corporate training and have always enjoyed my stays at Embassy over the years. On this particular visit, I ran into a couple hiccups. They mostly had to do with housekeeping; trash not being taken out, some found their sheets had stains on them, and the heat in the front part of the suite didn't work. Coming from a hospitality background myself, I always give management a chance to respond before posting a review. Nowadays it's too easy to complain and I don't want to be that angry online guy. So I brought it to the attention of Thomas and Sydney, the front desk managers. Thomas apologized for the lack of heat and explained how the system works. It warmed up during the week so it wasn't as big of an issue. I was given a couple contacts from Sales and Marketing so I put my concerns in an email. Heather & Jessica responded the next day and circled back the day after, immediately addressing my concerns and doing what they could to offset the situation. Mistakes are human, we all make them. But when I see a team of people working in sync to try and help a guest, it shows me they genuinely care above the company's corporate mission statement. Special shoutout to Front Desk Manager Sydney! She was professional, kind, and connected with me every time I was in the lobby. I ended up enjoying the rest of my stay, I forgot how amazing their breakfast is, the Happy Hour drinks were potent and I made use of their full set of dumbbells in the fitness center! Thank you for turning this around, I wouldn't hesitate to book again!
We chose this hotel because it was close to Milwaukee and not nearly as expensive as hotels in the city. So, So glad we did. There are plenty of restaurants and stores right there and it is a super short drive to Milwaukee. The room was very clean and the mattress was the most comfortable one we have ever had in a hotel. The room also had a mini frig and microwave. We would definitely stay here again and will look for this hotel chain when going out of town
