The Bell Inn Hotel

We are quite seasoned travellers and visit the New Forest several times a year in our motor home with our two dogs. We have visited The Bell on several occasions and believe it has now changed ownership. We received a very warm welcome, along with our dogs and were seated very quickly. The food was of a decent quality, albeit the plates weren’t very hot. Our dogs received a treat. Katie was most helpful and very smiley throughout our visit, courteous and pleasant. We shall return again in July !

Lovely setting in the New Forest. Bright and clean, we went for dinner with friends. We had booked in advance and were greeted by Katie who showed us to our table. We had mains and desserts which were of good portion size and quality. Katie was a wonderful host and was very attentive throughout our visit which means we will definitely be visiting again!

Great find - exceptional place - food, rooms, location are all spot on . Rooms are a good size - all lovely quality bedding and towels . Day room looked super. Bar and restaurant for both evening meal and breakfast were superb.

I booked to take my elderly mother to stay here , to visit with friends in the village. Unfortunately, i suffered with severe back pain and was unable to drive us to the New Forest. Sadly we had to cancel our trip, and our 2 night booking. The customer service team at the hotel were just so empathetic and understanding. I think you can get a feel of an establishment by how they react to adverse situations. We really look forward to re booking in the future.

It is hard to give a rating - I will start with the positives - The wedding was fabulous - Wedding breakfast was lovely and service staff attentive without being intrusive. Although there had been issues on the way due to lack of communication at times. Charlotte did do a great job on the day ensuring everything went smoothly. However the reception team regarding booking/pricing and general communication was poor. There were numerous issues regarding inflated prices for the rooms because it was a wedding also customers being charged for their stay before and when this was questioned staff knew there was an issue and had been an issue for over a year. There was also confusion over reservations. The bridal couple had been told several things by one member of staff but then after paying a deposit were told that the things discussed were not accurate. We were able to get most resolved however it did cause a great deal of stress and anxiety leading up to the wedding. One key issue was the pricing of rooms for the guests of the wedding - where inflated prices were used - after a great deal of communications it was eventually resolved but on the day of departure we were again told the incorrect pricing which meant an unpleasant end to the weekend. This is a lovely venue for a small wedding - just make sure you fully understand all their terms and conditions before making your booking.

Excellent service throughout our visit for lunch from Katie. Pub warm and inviting with a real fire. Food excellent. Arrived hot and was deliciousness. Could not fault a thing. Thank you Phil for our coffees. My Irish coffee was perfect. Will definitely return.

Excellent service, staff incredibly friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The rooms are large and clean and the staff quite obviously care about the travellers experience during their stay.

The friendly staff made our stay relaxing and fun. Katie, Tom, Tao and Phillip (plus others on the bar but can’t remember their names) were so helpful and genuine, full of energy. Our dog is nervous and they were all so accommodating. Breakfasts are particularly good. Lovely bedroom and the Forest Room as a quiet lounge was great to sit in during bad weather as a. Change from the bar. Highly recommend The Bell Inn and we will certainly return.
