South Lodge Guest House

Our 2nd time staying at South lodge on our bike trips when we are in the area. Tony & Steve are both really welcoming and great hosts who make sure you have a pleasant stay. Secure bike storage to the rear, great rooms with the little touches which makes your stay even better. Breakfast is excellent with a great variety all cooked to perfection. Thanks guys we will be back when we are in the area again.

Pros-A very enjoyable one night stay in room 6. The room was spotlessly clean and fully loaded. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The South Beach is less than 5 minutes walk. The breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice and quality. Cons- The en suite is quite cramped. On site parking is limited, but street parking plentiful.

2nd stay at South Lodge with 3 friends from York, on a golfing weekend. Top Notch B&B, breakfast freshly cooked to order, which was lovely and hot. Lots of choice and quality food and drinks. Nice touches in the room, homemade cookies with tea & coffee facilities. Fab furnishings and comfortable beds. Friendly welcome from two great hosts. Definitely recommend and will return Thankyou for a really pleasant stay Regards Mark 😊

All the five star reviews are well deserved. Tony & Steve are welcoming and friendly hosts. The rooms are so comfortable with luxury extras. Breakfast was excellent ( the best poached eggs ever) . The main priorities of comfort , great food and cleanliness are all achieved but you get so much more…. excellent quality bed linen, gowns & slippers available and delicious shortbread and chocolate. It really is really well run and top quality b & b. Thank you

Steve and Tony are wonderful hosts. Extremely welcoming, with a dedicated space in the back garden for bike storage. Rooms are warm and welcoming. Breakfast next morning was beautiful and South Lodge is a 3 minute walk to the promenade and the crashing waves - railway station is no more than a 5 minute walk away...

Wonderful stay would not hesitate to return, lots of lovely extra touches. A little gem of a place with welcoming hosts

This is a little gem of a place , the hosts are absolutely amazing at making your stay comfortable and accommodating with lovely little perks like home made delicious biscuits in your room and a great selection of beverages the bed was so comfortable and warm the shower was great . The breakfast was above and beyond with quality ingredients you sure go away set up for the day , we will be back again that’s for sure 😊

Wow! This place is a gem. The owners Tony and Steve are so welcoming and helpful. The property is spotless. The bed comfortable with all little extras... chocolate on the pillow, room cleaned each day, selection of hot drinks in the room and homemade shortbread to die for! Great attention to detail. Breakfast....well if you have a huge appetite tick the request for full English. It's huge! There's yoghurt, fruit salad and cereal for those who don't want to gain 10lbs! All the produce is lovely and cooked to perfection.. If you can stay here, you should. Lovely place to stay. The area is quiet, easy to park (two spaces on the front).

South Lodge’s location is perfect. Steve & Tony were excellent hosts and very friendly and helpful, the room and all the little extras in the room is a lovely touch especially the home made biscuits. We honestly couldn’t have asked for anymore, It is by far one of the best B & Bs we’ve stayed in and the best breakfast’s we’ve had in a B & B. We will definitely be returning. Claire & Gary.
