Doric Hotel

Had a lovely stay at the doric, staff were more than helpful. Great location by the trams for easy access to attractions

Bar prices were a bit confusing different prices for same drink for members of our group.Helpful staff when asked of i could change rooms.Felt a little hurried at evening meals but waiting on staff did an excellent job .

We spent only 1 night at Doric Hotel,2 children and 2 adults,room was nice and clean but the main thing we booked it for was the heated indoor pool which is open till 7pm,children loved it so much they didn't want to vome home . The only negative might be the lift which barely van hold 2 people but didn't bother us as we were only on the 2nd level . Overall good olace,would stay there again

The experience got better as the days moved on. Fawlty Towers springs to mind. When we arrived housekeeping were not expecting us. There was a rush to get a room ready. Front of house knew we were coming but no one told the housekeeping staff. We were given a table to use for our stay but after two days it moved. Dining was like a conveyor belt until I asked if we could take just a few minutes between courses Please ! The price of a bottle of wine fluctuated each night for the same wine. Towels were not replaced as per instructions. The staff were lovely though and at the end of the day the stay was value for money. It was entertaining to find out what would go wrong next. All part of the fun !😂

Nice hotel. Pool and spa were used, little busy but that shows the popularity of it. Thin walls meant we could hear next door speaking every word. Good walk away from the centre, which cost £18 on the tram return! Walkable, but 20-25mins at a good pace.

Nice hotel, very hard to get parked at hotel but parked just a street away, which was fine. Got in touch with hotel day before to change room this was all done with no problems, but on arrival was charged £50 deposit and told would get back on check out. Checked out was then told will be a few days until it goes back on card which obviously wasn’t explained at check in correctly and was the same member of staff at check in and check out. Rooms basic but had everything we needed, kids running around in room above all night but obviously that’s not hotels fault, swimming pool was small but lovely jacuzzi! Don’t think would stay again just down to the £50 thing. As never done this in hotels before only caravans and holiday let’s nothing was broken so hoping this hotel doesn’t withhold it ?

Wasn’t the best hotel we have stayed in. 1st room we got given when we walked in,room was so hot we opened windows to hear noise from the air-con for the hotel, phoned reception said would be turned off at 9pm.That wasn’t suitable for us so they gave us another room. 2nd room heating was on full blast while it was 22c outside! The room was OK but the bathroom looked like it hadn’t been decorated since it was built ! Pink/peach bathroom suit and a hairdryer looked like my gran use to have back in the days ! Food was reasonable, drinks fine enough, had to ask for some ice as our water that was brought to us was warm enough to poach an egg ! Sorry won’t be back, but was very busy and looked popular for regular holiday makers to the area. Staff were friendly and helpful tho when needed

I took my three teenagers to blackpool for the weekend and we stayed here on a half board basis. We were unable to get a parking space but there was a pay and display car park across the road which was £5 per 24 hours. We were in a sea view family room. The beds were very soft but ok. The room was clean but a bit tired in decor. The bathroom could have definitely used some care but it was functional. There was a large waredrobe in the room but limited surface space to put anything. The desk was taken up with the tea/coffee making equipment. On our last night the people above us were extremely loud (children running around sounded like they were going to come through the celling) until well after midnight. The reception staff were very quick to address this and our neighbours above were considerate and stopped the noise immediately. The food was average but good for the price you pay. The waiting staff were all amazing! They worked incredibly hard and always with a smile. The entertainment was a bit hit and miss. The first night was a good mix of music and comedy but the second night was more like watching someone sing karaoke for 45 minutes with no interaction with the crowd. Ben Belushi performed on our final night and I would rate his voice on par with acts Ive seen in professional west end shows. Such an incredible talent! The only downside would be accessibility with only having a very small lift and steep stairs, as well as the distance from the attractions.

There was a sea view. The room was warm enough. The hotel advertised on site hotel parking. That was the reason we chose to stay there. There is no on site parking. We parked on the road, in streets adjacent to the hotel. Very disappointing. The standard double room had bunk beds. Couldn't work that out. It was a small enough room to start with and this made it impossible for two adults to move about the room at one time. The TV on the wall was badly situated and we had to be vigilant in avoiding hitting our heads off it. There was only one chair in room. One of us had to sit on the bed. Totally unacceptable. The shower room was tiny and in desperate need of upgrading. I found a small tub of Sudafed down the side of the bed between the bed and the bedside cabinet. It wasn’t ours! There was an odd smell in the room. We stayed on the third floor and as I walked along the creaky corridors, it reminded me of the original boarding houses in Blackpool where two properties were knocked into one. This was not what I was expecting from the Doric Hotel! The carpet would have been in fashion in the 70's! I was so disappointed in my stay at the Doric. In my opinion, it is grossly over priced at £200 for two nights. Needless to say, we won't be back and we will not be recommending it to any friends or family.
