I had a long drive from the Netherlands to Denmark and needed a stopover on the way. And I didn’t regret this booking. The apartments seemed newly renovated and it was a lovely stay here. Nice rooms. Greats size and a good bed. I can only recommend

The hotel is situated in the downtown area of Soltau. Shopping, restaurants, bars and museums are all in walking distance. Access to the entire Heidekreis by car is excellent. Even so the hotel was quiet.
The hotel was clean and the service staff was friendly. The furniture and the interior of the hotel were old, reminiscent of the 60s and 70s. The bed was a bit too small for me and the pillow somewhat uncomfortable. Nevertheless, I felt that the cost-benefit ratio was acceptable. Breakfast was good.
I would stay at the hotel again.

Small property... I get it... it's not like a big-brand 5-star hotel. Still, I expect some basics. The room smelled funny, even after I aired it out. The radiator in the bathroom does not work. The shower frequently cycled between scorching hot and freezing cold water. The "free breakfast" does not get restocked, so cold cuts that were consumed yesterday would be empty today--no new alternatives, just that spot is now empty. The upholstery is severely stained and worn on the chairs in their "restaurant" area. Also, no elevator, so be prepared to carry all luggage up the stairs! Overall, very disappointing, and I don't plan to go back.

It must have been a grand hotel once. Now its old and not up to date. But it was cheap, 57 euros, with a classic breakfast included. Nothing special, but it filled my stomach. Bed was actually really nice. In total, good value for money, I could easily choose this hotel again. AND, it was only few hundreds meters from the restaurants of the town

Mit einer Reisegruppe hier 3Tage eingekehrt. Zimmer Ausstattung gut. Bad etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Frühstücks Büffet reichhaltig. Abendessen war auch ganz gut. Bedienung war freundlich. Frau Zimmermann, die Event Managerin war sehr nett und bemüht unseren Aufenthalt abwechslungsreich zu gestalten. Ansonsten war alles sauber. !!!Hinweis bei Interresse!!! Am 6.9.2024 wird über Graf Reisen in Herne, wo man die Soltau Tour buchen kann, wieder auf dem Schaeferhof, ein Scheunenfest stattfinden mit Führung und Geschichten über Heidschnucken auf dem Schaeferhof, und anschließend mit gutem Essen, Musik und Unterhaltung.

Das Hotel liegt direkt an der Straße, Parkplatz ist im Hinterhof vorhanden. Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen, aber es war sauber und die Mitarbeiter waren freundlich.

Vi skulle have en enkelt overnatning, og havde taget hotellet fordi, de reklamerede med restauranter, terrasse og have'. intet af dette var dog tilgængeligt. man havde valgt, at et busselskab, kunne bruge restauranterne.
