Stayed with 3 friends Good sized room clean comfortable beds very basic Small bathroom good hot shower Noise from busy road at night Adequate breakfast juice tea coffee rolls boiled eggs ham cheese yogurt cereal etc typical continental breakfast

My second stay here! Many of the simple rooms overlook a charming courtyard. The staff are very attentive and efficient - the breakfast which is generally included in the room price is excellent. If you want a quiet traditional hotel in a terrific location, Hotel-Pension Bernstein is WELL worth considering!

I stayed here my first 3 nights in Germany. The hotel is clean enough but quite old. The bathroom was pretty small and the hallways were always dark and gloomy here. The staff are pleasant enough especially the lady at breakfast but the food was nothing special but ok. The location was good with transport all around to go places and restaurants to eat at. Internet speed was ok.

Staff was super helpful. Really dug the neighborhood. Great, old building that somehow survived the WWII. Liked the double pained, double framed window system. I highly recommend as it was close to the Metro station, easy to get to many of the attractions of the city, as well as eat reasonably with a wide variety right near the hotel. Good stay.

Good, friendly service even though some of the staff didn't speak English. The hotel has seen better days and is worn-out but it's small and central with good breakfast and everything works. Much cosier atmosphere than one of the big hotel chains - and I guess better value for the money

Nice location, good shopping possibilitirs and restaurant around. Easy to come and leave with U-bahns. Good breakfast. Good service!

This is a property with no elevator and no reception area. I informed the hotel that I would be checking in around midnight. When I finally reached the property around midnight, the front door was locked and dark. There was no message for me and there was nobody to help me open the door. Their phone number was not working and I was left to fend for myself in a foreign country in the middle of the night in icy cold condition.
Luckily, I had a friend in Germany who was able to communicate to the hotel manager about my situation and after a lot of difficulty and harrowing experience, I was able to check in.
