The Onya is one of those hotels of which you'd think, after having left: "Hmm, I wish I booked more nights". Which is probably what we'll do... next time. Right from check-in you feel welcome in this cozy hotel. It's called 'resort' but don't worry, it's not some huge tourism factory. Instead it has kind of the perfect size to remain personal and provide a consistent high level of service. People in general seems to be very friendly in Bellwald, and so is the staff at the Onya. The Onya is located right next to the chairlift. Nice for the lazy skiers (like myself) who don't like carrying their gear and equally convenient for the sun loving tourists who like to take the lift one last time before closing to make a downhill run on one of those fun mountain carts. The hotel has a SPA which is has the correct size and features... like a sauna... which is hot! (but I guess that's how a sauna should be). However, we do feel sorry... sorry for the other restaurants in the village. Because Chefin Bund and her team... you rock! We liked the food that much that we actually cancelled our booking in another restaurant (again, sorry), just to enjoy the food served at the Onya/Alten Gasse once more. Obviously there's also room for improvement so some advice for the management: - Put a complimentary bottle of water in the rooms. It's kind of an expectation for a 4* hotel. As well as a chocolate every day (not just on arrival).. we love chocolate. - Provide information on the parking facilities on your website: the fact that there is a parking, the price/day and the alternatives if your private parking is full. - Reach out to your guests a few days before arrival to ask if they would like to dine in. Especially when the restaurant is likely to be fully booked. - Make sure to keep the Chef(in) on board, she's one of your biggest assets! For future guests: try out the Urs Hecht Vieille Williams from the big bottle... oh la la... See you next time!
