Wyndham San Jose Herradura Hotel & Convention Center

We were prepared when booking this hotel from existing reviews by others. What happened turns out disappointing. The room on 2000 series on second floor seems an old unit, no shower floor towel, bath tub a bit old but functional, no fridge and so on. We were prepared for all that considering the price and location. At bed time, we found two bugs on bed linen but dusted them off. It's tropical a**osphere, what one expect! The next morning after breakfast, however, I found a few more on my bed. I pulled out a one of my credit card and killed a few. When pulled up my bed cover further, more showed up ...... See the bug in the video clip. I called front desk who sent a room services personnel to look at it. The personnel seems surprised to see the bugs as well. The front desk lady was nice and quick to act and changed my room to the room on 6000 series and okay with us. I requested to talk to their manager. Once back in late afternoon that day, I approached frondesk rep who went to backroom to fetch for the manager. The manager showed up in a while and apologized lightly, and started to push back by saying it's tropical weather here,bugs are normal, and many more. I told him that the room is infested too bad and need a thoughrou cleaning to eradicate the infestation. The manage then went on to explaining the same. I feel disappointed. For this hotel, I do not recommend this hotel until they do a good job. Or if you do like us, not exactly though, do make sure to ask the right question to avoid such a room. Good luck next time.

The most unorganised hotel I have ever been to. Check in is from 3pm and so we arrived at 4pm to be greeted to a huge queue of people unable to get their room as none of the cleaning was completed. Reception told us it would take 30 mins to get a room which was a complete lie. We kept going up and checking and they kept saying another 10 minutes which carried on for 2.5 hours at which time we only received the key to 1/4 rooms I had booked. Other guests we spoke to waited over 4 hours for their room key. We were given one soft drink as a concession for this which I thought was unacceptable. Instead of waiting around to be told further fake waiting times, we left the hotel to go back to town and then on returning at 11pm, the new receptionist had no idea about the issue and struggled to find our other rooms we had been waiting for, resulting in more waiting around after already being frustrated about the situation earlier. Eventually the receptionist from earlier appeared in a very dismissive manner and shoved a post it note with our remaining room numbers for the man to find. Not good service at all. The next day we booked a shuttle bus to the airport. We got to the designated spot and they had run out of room on the bus despite us pre booking. This means we had to wait another 30 mins for a bus to be organised resulting in us having less time at the airport to get through security etc. The actual hotel is fine with a nice pool area (one of the reasons we had booked but were unable to use due to no room access for hours on end) but the management of this hotel is atrocious. Wyndham need to look at this urgently as it is dragging down their name as a trusted hotel chain. I will never be staying at a Wyndham again if they can’t guarantee a stress free experience.

Cleanning coridors at 12 am noisy and unsafe, someone was trying to open our door at 3 am ....breakfast poor no options. Will not reccomend this place!!!

Very friendly, however they gave me a room on the second floor where was no elevator. Had to carry all the luggage upstairs. Temperature in the room was not controlable and very low water pressure in shower and the water was cold.

We waited 3.5 hours for our room after the time they said it would be available. The room we were given already had a guest inside. They needed to assign us a different room causing more delay. Another guest woke us up while entering our locked room with a key card at 11:15 pm. The fan/AC in the room did not work. The staff was gracious but obviously overwhelmed with the number of guests in the hotel and there is a definite problem with their room assignment and key card program.

We stayed here the night of our week stay and then the night prior to leaving Costa Rica. The first room we stayed in was outdated and in a shady area of the property. The last night we were in the newer part of the property, but our room wasn’t ready at check in, so we had to wait. They comped us breakfast for the next day, but that was a poorly laid out dining area where everything was out, and it took more energy to try and track down plates, cups, and napkins than to actually eat.

Checking in was terrible, no one picked up the phone while I was calling from the airport. Terrible service and the rooms was dirty, the bathroom had hairs all over

We arrived at the check in time and our room was not ready for another three hours. Most people checking in were in the same boat and when I went back down at 8pm there were still some families waiting for a room. Good options were limited which resulted in me needing to walk to macdonalds. In the morning we were running late for our flight. They offered me the 7am shuttle to the airport but I asked them to call a taxi so that I could get there a few minutes sooner. The taxi never came so we got on the 7am airport shuttle and when we got there he said this is my taxi and that I owe him $20 for it. Even went as far as to call the receptionists to have her reiterate this to me. I paid them because I was in a rush and did not want to make a scene with two children under 3 in my presence. This hotel scammed me.

checkin was long and confusing . . .we were assigned a room and it was occupied when i opened the room . . in shock and angry. . we were given an upgrade but not sure what the difference in the room was ... it faced a parking lot. . hotel is very large . . walk forever down hallways . .
