Santa Catalina Hotel is undeniably a historic architectural landmark, but as a hotel experience it fell well below expectations. On arrival, the service felt cold and somewhat pretentious rather than welcoming, with concierge staff coming across as detached and pompous rather than genuinely hospitable. A key reason for choosing the hotel was the prominently advertised rooftop pool and views, only to discover after check-in that access is restricted to suite guests. The spa is similarly limited unless you pay €15 per person for 90 minutes, which feels disproportionate given the modest facilities. These restrictions are not clearly communicated at booking and leave a sense of being misled. Several of the lounge and communal areas were also frequently reserved for corporate events and seminars, which further diminished the sense of a relaxed hotel environment. As a guest, it often felt as though you were secondary to business groups and functions moving through the space, even in more personal hotel moments such as walking through common areas in a robe. In-room entertainment is very dated, with a non–smart TV offering only basic local and satellite channels. Room service carries a €5 delivery surcharge, while on-site dining is largely limited to high-end fine dining with little casual alternative. It is also worth noting that Las Palmas sits under a noticeably less favourable microclimate than the south and west of Gran Canaria. During our stay, conditions were consistently cloudy, windy, and cool, which further limited the enjoyment of the hotel’s already restricted amenities. For those seeking reliable sun and beach weather, the southern or western parts of the island are a better choice. Overall, despite its striking heritage setting, the combination of underwhelming service, restricted access to advertised facilities, dated in-room amenities, corporate use of guest spaces, and disappointing weather made for a stay that did not feel justified by the price and is not somewhere we would return to. The atmosphere and clientele also skew noticeably toward an older demographic.

El hotel está bien ubicado y su personal es amable. Sin embargo, el desayuno se sirve en otro NH que se encuentra a 200 metros. En ningún momento se me avisó de esta circunstancia antes de la reserva. Las instalaciones están muy viejas, un hecho que se nota especialmente en el baño. La habitación no tenía luz natural y contaba con dos camas individuales realmente pequeñas.

Excellent location, one side is the port and other side is the beach. Near Santa Catalina square with many restaurants and cafes. Negative is the location of the Reception. First floor and use of stairs. Elevator is not so accessible

L’hôtel est super bien placé : au nord de l’île avec une vue sur la mer. Petits bémols : il n’y a pas de parking sur place donc s’il vous arrive de louer un véhicule, ce sera difficile de trouver un endroit pour se garer. Le petit déjeuner était impeccable ! Rien à dire !

Muito perto da praia, 2 min andando até calçadão, o apto era muito arejado, só precisa de cortinas melhores para ficar escuro de manhã, tem mini cozinha com fogão e frigobar, deu pra gente fazer nosso café da manhã, equipe de atendimento na recepção foram ótimas, local sempre limpo, com certeza voltarei nesse apartamento caso volte pra Canarias.

Площадь номера всего 14 метров (меньше 20 в моей практике не было), но мы знали что бронировали, поэтому сюрпризом это не стало. Номер был на третьем этаже, окна выходили на второстепенную улицу, где, как нам казалось, очень тихо. Особенно по сравнению с другой стороной, куда выходят окна у апарт-отеля, – в сторону парка Санта-Каталина. Здесь первые этажи занимают бары и рестораны, и по вечерам царит настоящее столпотворение. А вот мусор из этих заведений по ночам выносят как раз на параллельную улицу, туда, куда у нас выходили окна. Так что если хотите выспаться, нужны будут беруши – внешняя звукоизоляция фактически отсутствует. Номер скромный не только по размерам, но и по оснащению – но мы были к этому готовы. Санузел чистый, уборка в номерах каждые трое суток (биоразлагаемые отходы выносили каждый день). Горячая вода – из накопительного водонагревателя, но его объема не хватало на то, чтобы два человека приняли душ сразу по очереди. Нужно сделать перерыв хотя бы минут 15, чтобы вода успела нагреться.
