Chic & Basic Velvet

Проживали в отеле 4 дня, добирались из аэропорта на такси, ехать минут 15, отель находится в тихом районе рядом с площадью Каталонии, номер выходил во двор, было тихо, завтраки европейские, до достопримечательностей добираться легко. Нам все понравилось!

An ideally located hotel. The room was on the small side but it was clean and tidy. I didn’t have the breakfast. There is free coffee and tea all day, as well as filtered cold water. The bed was comfortable. There is a Mercadona supermarket about 5 minutes walk away and Sants station is about a 10 minute walk.

I really wanted to give a better rating, because I liked many things about it, but I will try to be as objective as possible. We are a family with a 2-year old kid. Our stay is relatively long (vacation). We chose this hotel mainly because of the impression it is family-friendly. The comments like hearing the neighbors, etc (which is true) didn't bother us that much. We booked a "superior" room. The staff at the reception treated us well as we arrived. Also they were very helpful in answering our questions. Similarly the room service team was very professional and still friendly. They understood what a family with little kids might need. However, due to the fact that the room fridge is very small and offers only limited cooling capacity, some food items either went bad, or were impossible to fit in the fridge. For example the baby milk went bad a couple of times. Therefore we requested some milk to feed it before going to bed. At first the staff responded in a friendly way, but later (two of them) became very reluctant in answering our needs. It is true we could have kept some items in the big fridge at the hall, which we did already, but it is different when it comes to baby milk. We simply expected either a better and larger fridge, or a more attentive staff at the reception. When faced with the same situation before at a different hotel, they replaced the fridge immediately. Long story short: following our experience, the hotel is not as family-friendly as we expected. I would not recommend it for long stays. For the price, the "superior" room is not worth it. Paying more than 1,400€, we didn't think getting some warm baby milk would be that complicated. That said, we did enjoy the terrace and the hall area. Half of the staff at the reception were very helpful and professional. The location was very central.

Fantastic little hotel near Placa Espana. Lots of nice generous touches - free minibar, slippers, a guest lounge with free tea & coffee. Rooftop terrace. Clean and quiet room. Easy access to city, airport and local food and transport options. Front desk staff were lovely and helpful - recommended a great place for paella. Highly recommend.

Through the rooms are small and somewhat tired, the breakfast is very good and the honesty bar area is comfortable and has a nice outdoor patio. The neighborhood is pleasant with some good small restaurants, and the metro is an eight minute walk away. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.

The room was clean and beds were comfortable. The staff was nice and location is quiet. They have a tub inside the rooms but jets were not functioning

I would not recommend this hotel for many reasons. It’s very loud, you can hear everything that everyone was doing. Maid service, hotel guest entering and leaving their rooms, toilets flushing and showers running. We were located on the first floor and it smelled like a wet and dirty basement. The sheets felt damp, your clothes would feel damp. It was impossible to feel clean. It was not worth the price at all. Very disappointed. Don’t let the name fool you, she is basic but not chic.
