Batad Hillside Inn and Restaurant

I spent one night at this inn. While I didn't expect luxury, the standard of accommodations is more akin to a youth hostel than a hotel. Guests are obliged to hike about 15 minutes downhill to the Inn from the paid parking area (P300/day). Rooms are shoddy, with cobwebs in the corner and no outlets for charging devices. The cleanliness of the common unisex bathrooms was questionable, with the top floor bathroom seemingly doubling as a utility area with old paint tins pushed into the corners. Toilets lacked seats or flushing mechanisms. Dust, dead insects and old bars of soap were on the shelves. The walls were thin enough to hear all other guests. Doors appear to close at 9pm. Thankfully the bedding appeared clean, and there was a weak 'hot water on demand' unit in the shower. Given the state of the place I did not eat there, though the food appeared decent. The view is spectacular. Nonetheless, I would not recommend this Inn.

Ich kann viele der Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen. Mein Zimmer war sauber, das Bett war gemütlich. Natürlich sind es keine klassischen westlichen Standards gerade wenn es um das Thema Bad geht, aber so leben nun mal die Menschen dort. Das Abendessen war sehr gut, ich habe das Adobo sehr genossen nach einem anstrengenden Treck. Das Frühstück war einfach aber auch sehr lecker. Der Pancake und die Eier waren sehr lecker und die Aussicht - Wahnsinn. Auch sonst waren die Leute sehr nett, familiär und herzlich, ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Sehr schade, dass es manche Touris es wohl nicht schätzen, was für einen Aufwand die Leute in Batad treiben um auch ein Bier oder Cola anzubieten. Mittlerweile gibt es sogar Wifi gegen Gebühr, jedoch macht es für mich ja gerade den Reiz aus mal 3 Tage nicht abgelenkt zu werden und einfach die Umgebung zu genießen. Ich kann es sehr empfehlen hier zu übernachten wenn man in Batad ist.
