Mount Falcon Estate

Just back from an overnight stay at Mount Falcon. It is set in stunning grounds. From the moment we checked in we were made to feel really welcome. From the spa treatments to the restaurant & bar, the staff could not have done more to make our stay wonderful. The rooms are beautiful and very spacious. Beautiful spa & leisure facilities. The restaurant is excellent & food Devine. I highly recommend this & will be back as soon as possible

Such a beautiful place! My mum and I stayed at Mount Falcon last week and we will definitely be booking again. Such a peaceful and idyllic escape from our busy lives. We really enjoyed the spa and swimming pool, after a swim we chilled on the loungers, with the beautiful views of the estate and the only sound was of water from the jacuzzi.. It was amazing! Marcus was extremely helpful to us both at the excellent and well equipped gym, we could not have asked for more! He was really approachable, extremely knowledgeable and very happy to help us, he is such an asset to the hotel. The spa is extremely well run and the attention to detail is superb, right down to a member of staff lighting the candles at the pool just before sunset! I honestly don’t think I have ever felt so relaxed. The jacuzzi was amazing. I tend to be very fussy about water temperature but this was absolutely perfect. Dinner was a wonderful experience. Our waiter, Sergio was absolutely wonderful and my mum and I felt so relaxed. His service was excellent and so professional. It would rival Ashford Castle in my opinion. The food was delicious and after dinner, we had a lovely walk on the grounds. Such a perfect stay, thank you so much! I am most definitely booking to stay again next time I’m in Ireland.

this was a very quiet period. but the standard of food and service from the staff was excellent, I would like to pay particular thanks to the Girls in the bar and Sergio in the kitchen restaurant for their help and pleasant conversation throughout our two night stay

Enormous standard rooms with king beds, sitting area, desk and armoire. Huge 4 piece bathrooms with double sinks. Array of amenities in the rooms including large assortment of toiletries, bathrobes, slippers, coffee maker. Windows that open for fresh country air. Gorgeous historic common rooms including a bar and restaurant. Indoor pool and gym. Extensive grounds with walking paths. Accommodation choices include rooms, suites, townhouses and cottages. Falconry demonstrations too!

I had the pleasure of visiting Mount Falcon for a site visit where I met with the lovely Sarcha. The estate itself is truly magical and after hearing the history about the estate I was in awe of what the owners have done to preserve the character and charm of the manor. After generously being offered to have lunch at the Estate, I was taken back by the friendliness and the generosity of the mount falcon team. Home away from Home is the words I will use to sum it up! Fantastic

This estate stay "could" have been beautiful - sadly, the management made the experience absolutely terrible. I could overlook the short cuts - times are tight, and even grand estates (or those pretending to be) hit hard times. However there is absolutely no excuse for poor customer service - Especially in the service industry, and that is all you will get here. I dined with a group of 8, and did not receive my meal when everyone else was served - and that was after another guest was rudely reprimanded by the head server (manager?) for taking too long eating her salad, and holding up the second course serving. About 25 mins after everyone received and had finished their main courses, I finally got my seafood dish, which was clearly scraped out of the bottom of the pot, as I chewed on and spit out shells and bones. When it came time to pay I let the server know how dissatisfied I was and that my meal was terrible, even though it was clear to all around (INCLUDING the rude head server/mgr) that my terrible meal's lateness and, in fact our entire table's service (missed drinks, rudeness, disorganization) etc. was unacceptable. I was told I could have a dessert, but there would be no compensation in any other way, not even reducing my overpriced bill by the COST of a dessert. No thanks on the dessert - god knows when that would have been produced or what was in it. I now know what visiting the estate of a bankrupt Lord must have been like in the past ... If I could score this a 0, I would.

This is hands down the best place in all of Ireland. the grounds are wonderful to explore and so peaceful. The family cemetary was small and interesting. Food was outstanding at the restaurant. the Decor in the accomodations were like a fairytale. Staff were pleasant and helpful. there was so much to do here we regreated only being able to stay the one night.

A most wonderful and delightful location to spend time at just outside Ballina, Co. Mayo Ireland. Situated in verdant park land, it was delightful to be taken care of by magnificent staff. Old country house coupled with great good, wines and service.

There is NO restaurant! The much ballyhooed and much photographed restaurant is closed. The only dining is in a wedding tent set up on the lawn. The big feature is a pizza oven!!! We took cabs into town for dinner. The bar — also much photographed — is also closed! Actually it’s locked up. You can’t even peek in. The whole hotel seemed deserted and understaffed, nothing like its website or advertising. So skip this place and go to one of the many other lovely country houses in Ireland.
