This is our absolute favourite accommodation of our recent trip to Spain. The welcome from Receptiomist Mar was lovely - it is so nice to be greeted and not have to do everything digitally! Our Studio was huge, with a neat little kitchenette that had everything to enable us to make good use of the fresh ingredients we bought at the Mercado. The patio doors opened fully and we were ale to sit and watch the world go by (and see cruise ships dock and depart) from out 3rd level vantage point, overlooking the Plaza España. At Plazuela del Carbon, you are within a 15 minute walk to all the sights, and right there in the historic part of Cafiz. We were able to walk to the bus/train/ferry station in under 10 minutes. The coffee bar in the lobby is a wonderful idea, providing us with hot and cold refreshments 24 hours a day. We give it 11 out of 10 ... we really enjoyed our stay.

Located around 10 mins from the main railway station, and 2 mins utes from the beach, the hotel lived up to expectations. All staff were friendly and helpful, 24/7 - whether at the Reception Desk or in the Breakfast area. The rooms were spacious, with a huge double bed. Bathroom were also of high quality, with lots of room in the shower. The rooms were quiet, with minimal noise from either inside or outside. Breakfast choice was vast, and though we went down at different times during our stay, the breakfast area was never crowded. Food was restocked promptly and was of good quality.
This hotel is extremely well located in a small, lively plaza within the old city and easy walking distance from all attractions. It is also very good value for money as long as you are happy with a room that lacks charm and individuality but has all the basic amenities, like comfortable beds and an excellent shower, right. 'Frills' may be an electric kettle and small fridge which mean that hot drink making (in our case with tea bags we had brought from home and local milk kept in the fridge) possible. Rooms are a good size too, clean and freshly painted (no smell). We asked for a quiet room, realising that those overlooking the plaza were likely to be noisy, and were given 407 which was very quiet indeed, but rather hot as at the top of the building and with only a small window looking on to internal, but un-peopled, courtyard. Temperature outside in mid-March during the day was around 22F but it rarely fell below 15F at night. A/C not yet switched on centrally. One disappointment was the breakfast which was lack-lustre and poor quality. It was included in our room deal so we stayed in but others may not wish to. The meal was taken in the cafe or back-room adjacent to the cafe, on the ground floor of the hotel. Cafe open to non-residents as well. Cadiz is a wonderful place to visit. Staying at this hotel is a very good value way of doing so.
Outstanding! It’s not impossible… though sometimes you wonder why we don’t come across places like this… all the time! Can it be so difficult for a single place to provide excellence at all levels - service, facilities, cleanliness, layout of room and bathroom, size and tone (lighting) of room, comfort… breakfast?! This place has it all!
A fantastic space in a great location and super-helpful staff. Family room had everything we needed, but could I suppose have been bigger. Did not attempt to negotiate a larger space. Bathroom was very good with a great shower, super-necessary in the middle of summer. Lovely balcony onto side street from third floor. Only once had breakfast there, and was excellent. More importantly, the coffee shop next door was very good indeed, for cake and yes, coffee. Location in middle of high street gave us beaches left and right and a few minutes walk away only. A great many cafes, restaurants and tapas providers in close proximity. Turning left out of the hotel takes you within two minutes to a fantastic ice-cream parlour.
SSunshine34353550180This is one of the best apartment-hotels I've ever stayed at. There are limited front desk hours - but you have an easy to remember entry code and we only used the front desk during check-in. Apartments look even better than the photos. We had a studio suite with balcony to the pedestrian street. Most of Cádiz is pedestrian, but access is easy with taxis able to drop you at Plaza San Antonio which is just a few feet from the entrance. The lobby atrium of the renovated palace is spectacular. Elevator available but we mostly took the stairs. Beds were some of the most comfortable of our trip - much better than the more expensive hotel we changed to when we extended our stay in Cádiz and El Armador was sold out. Kitchen had everything you need - but we only used it for coffee and take-out sandwiches for breakfast (there is a great bakery just down the street) - there are so many great restaurants nearby with good prices that we ate out every day. Staff was great, cleaning crew was great and your stay will be fantastic. One note about some of the other apartments. Our suite had windows to the street, but some rooms have interior windows to the atrium and others pass by on their way to their suites. Not a big factor - but may be a concern for some guests not to have a window to the exterior.
Stayed for two nights with my husband as part of my 50th birthday celebrations! Well restored and looked after building. Very clean, comfy and spacious with a great roof terrace. Staff were very helpful. Quiet building and street but very close to the esplanade / pier where we watched “the kids” jumping off into the sea and the amazing sunset. Cadiz is a lovely city with some lovely parks and a beautiful cathedral. It’s also small enough to walk around quite easily. We had lunch in the market, which I recommend, and cooked our own food in the evening for a change. I'd also recommend a visit to the camera obscura. Had a great stay!
Beautiful boutique hotel which has been renovated to a very high standard. Booked 2 junior suites for a few nights away and had a fab time. Let’s start with the positives. Good location, round the corner from a busy local plaza which was a delight night and day! Immaculate and clean, house keeping do a fabulous job. Front reception team so lovely and helpful and the interior is just beautiful and chic. A few things that let it down. Fresh pastries and welcome drinks obviously available but we were not offered one as we came in which would have been nice. I emailed the hotel as it was my mums birthday treat and didn’t get any response to my request for fruit in the room. The spa is extra which for the price of the hotel and the very limited spa facility makes this feel a little cheap. We thought breakfast was included so do a double check as we had a 180 euro bill at the end of our stay - it was a nice breakfast but we probably would have explored more if we knew. That said it was a fabulous stay and I would recommend and Cadiz was a fab place for a few days !
An excellent location between the waterfront and the narrow streets of the old town. Our room, 6125, was on the second floor away from the lift. With the windows closed we had no noise, but were left reliant on a not very cool air conditioner fixed at 24 degrees - in my case a little too high for comfort. If I stayed again I might request an electric fan. We hugely enjoyed shared use of the third-floor outdoor terrace with views to the sea. Don't miss the sunset. Another huge bonus is the laundry with washer drier. No coins or any of that nonsense, although instructions are in Spanish. Inevitably I ended up the wash-that-never-ends but the receptionist was kind and helpful, even phoning a friend for advice. Also, you might need to buy your own laundry liquid. The low point was breakfast. Limited fruit and cereal and bread not to our taste. As we were staying for a few days stocked up at a supermarket. Cadiz itself is said to be struggling economically through loss of jobs and opportunities, with younger people leaving in search of these. However the place has a great spirit. The cathedral has a calm, warm and welcoming atmosphere after the rich glories of Granada, Cordoba and Seville.
I've stayed in many hostels during my travels and this time I stayed for almost 3 weeks at Planeta Cadiz. I absolutely loved everything about my stay there. The location is perfect in the heart of the historic town of Cadiz. The facilities are very clean and you have everything you need. In my dorm room there was even its own bathroom, which is usually on the hallway in other hostels. They also had a dedicated study and work room which was perfect for me as I had to work remotely during my stay. Also, the rooftop was fantastic and made it easy to socialize. Especially, the volunteers made great effort to make everyone feel welcoming and to be part of a little family. The kitchen could be a little bit better equipped, but you basically have everything you need to prepare proper meals! Thank you Planeta Cadiz for this great stay - I'll definitely come back!
ผผู้เข้าพักNice outward appearance and our room was available for check in. Nice room with king bed, lamps and plugs on both sides of bed. Nice table, with lamp and coffee pot and fixings. Plenty of room for working on electronics. Wi-Fi works well. Two luggage racks, very unusual. One full wall of cabinet space with safe. Refrigerator under the desk. Spouse was not happy with the tub/shower combination, but management put *****s of non-slip material on the tub floor. Bathroom nice size. Breakfast costs 5 Euro each and is inclusive, probably better then we can do on the street.
