Wonderful hotel. We stayed here two years ago, and then decided to come back again. The owner is really nice and helpful providing information about the island, where to go, where to rent a scooter. He helped me purchase flowers after proposing to my girlfriend. He also cooked us a delicious dinner after we purchased groceries at the market, better than Restaurant food. Nice guy with a good hotel, very clean and the location is nice. Two years ago we watched sunrise from the roof, this time it was too cloudy.

I enjoyed staying at this hotel with my family and friends. It is situated on top a small hill on one end of Shengshan Island. Staff can pick you up from the island’s dock and drive you to the hotel - which is great if it is super hot or if you get seasick on the ferry ride (1 hour from Shanghai, 3.5 hours from Ningbo) from the China mainland. The hotel has impressive rooms with large bathrooms / a tub, showy / “baller” furniture, and thrilling views of the sea. Our room had a 270 degrees view - we received a free room upgrade from the generous hotel. The hotel has a solid morning breakfast (not buffet) included in the room rate. Soft drinks and beers can also be bought. The hotel has an outdoor pool and it is next to a seaside road that can serve as a running route (there is a running path part of the way). One length of the island, from the hotel to the East Cliff, is about 5.25 km one-way. The run is more undulating (hilly) than you might expect, but it is not too bad. Bring suntan lotion if you go in the summer. I’d say 2-3 nights is enough to get the full experience. This is a really strong hotel considering that it is in a small market and that the whole island is a bit isolated. I am glad I went and am happy to recommend if you decide to give it a try.

Everything was excellent! The hotel is very stylish, well maintained, clean. All is managed with love and care, every detail. Their sunsets are famous, but in 10 minutes of walk you'll also find a place to watch sunrise. The food is very tasty, too. However, what I would like to note paticularly, is the way they treat guests. All my questions were answered immediately, and they helped me a lot with booking the ferry tickets! The boss and all others are super helpful, nice and friendly! I stayed there only one night, but they treated me as if I were their favourite guest! Pick-up and transfer in the most convenient way, continuous contact via WeChat, preparing the dinner special for me and serving it outside - everything was done to make me feeling relaxed and happy. Tengo una sensacion agridulce El personal fue adorable Pero no funciona DiDi ni los taxis en la Isla y los precios son desorbitados (claramente un negocio cuando ven a un turista) Tampoco pudimos bañarnos ni ducharnos por problemas con las tuberías sucias ( el agua salía marrón…) En fin espero volver algún día y que la experiencia sea diferente.

We just returned to Shanghai from staying at the Say No Inn, and everything was great. The staff was very attentive, helpful and friendly. They tried to cater to all of our requests. They even offered great dining options in the neightborhood. When it comes to location, again, fantastic. We had perfect view to the beach/ocean from the hotel and could walk to the local beach in 2 minutes. The swimming pool was mainly for kids or adults who just want to sit in water. Its not a big pool but has a great view and my son loved playing in the water. Overall, I would highly recommend other people to stay at this hotel. Thank you Say No Inn! One of our best stays in China! This place was absolutely amazing. The ladies running it are hilarious and always made us laugh. First of all - the rooms are really good for the price. We got upgraded to a much better room after our first night, free of charge. It’s also conveniently located next to grocery shops, cafes, restaurants and the beach, while still being a little out of the way from the hustle and bustle. The food here is really good too - the (included) breakfast as well as what you can buy for lunch/dinner is really fresh. Because of the language barrier they tried to accommodate by providing more “western style” breakfasts for us, but when we realized and asked about it they made us a second breakfast that was like the one everyone else got. They also helped us out with a driver to take us to the abandoned village, and booked our tickets back to Shanghai. Also, the aircon here is FAST and reliable which we’ve realized isn’t a given after a few weeks in China. So that’s another (small yet important) plus for sure! Usually I like to explore different places and stay at different accommodations if/when I revisit places, but I’d probably make an exception and stay here again if I ever come back to visit the island!

Great stay! The owner was very friendly and helpful. He explained how to get from Shanghai to the island, sent the ferry times, and met us at the pier. He arranged dinner and a trip to the famous abandoned Houtouwan Village. Always quick to respond. Trustworthy place, highly recommended.

I’ve spent a long time in China, but this was my first visit to Shengsi Islands. The hotel’s location and facilities were all clean and convenient.
