Vardis Olive Garden

This beautiful retreat set in a gorgeous olive grove was a perfect relaxing holiday for our family. All the staff at this family run hotel were very friendly and welcoming. It was a 15 min walk to the beach and a short drive to Lake Kournas, which is a must see, while the impressive White Mountains tower in the background. We all really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend a visit.

What a beautiful location, a bit of a trek to the beach but the peace and tranquility is worth it!( Also easily sorted by hiring a car). Immaculately clean , beautiful pool ,and did I mention peaceful?? lol. Breakfast was lovely, we were down for evening meals but as there weren't many of us we had limited choice which was a shame especially on veal stew and puree potato night lol!!!. Only downer for us was that we were the only English couple in the hotel so only had ourselves to chat to if an evening , but I would not hesitate to go back,but this time with a hire car to see a bit more

We (my 10 year old daughter and I) stayed at this fabulous hotel 11 days. (july 18-28).Upon arrival we were offered a welcome drink, which we chose to have at the tables by the pool. Our room was on the top floor, overlooking the pool, we had a nice balcony. I asked for 2 single beds (for my daughter and I), but the staff upgraded our one-room studio (which we booked) to a 2 room apartement for free, which was a very pleasant surprise at our arrival. The rooms are well-equipped, there is a kitchenette (fridge, cutlery electric cooker etc), service is great, everything is clean and well taken care of. Breakfast was included in the price, buffet style, there are no queues at the coffee machine, or at the food. The restaurant has an open air terrace, we always sat there, overlooking the pool and the mountains (further in the background). Food was delicious, and there was always fruit too, mostly melon. There are two pools, a shallow one for small children and a bigger one, it is not overcrowded, and there are plenty of sunbeds too, so we enjoyed it very much. There is also a small supermarket on site, near the reception. The two ladies at the reception (Sophia and Maria) are very kind, guest oriented, they are very attentive and try to help with everything they can, but all other employees are also very friendly and helpful. The main street of Kavros is within a 10minutes' walk, and the beautiful sandy beach at about 15-20 minutes' walking distance from the Hotel. Actually, we liked it there so much, that we decided to extend our holiday at this Hotel with 6 more days. We are looking forward to returning there next year too.

First time in Crete and could not have picked a better place to stay. So relaxing and quiet. Everywhere was spotless. We stayed on a Bed and breakfast basis, and could not fault it at all, lots of choice, no shortage of anything and everything was so fresh and tasty. The pool is a good size, and never any issues with sunbeds, always available through the day. Nice terrace for the bar area and snacks are served. The staff were lovely and very helpful and friendly. Our apar**ent was spacious and overlooked the pool area. Again lovely and clean, but air conditioning is a must. We had a separate room with a fridge, table and chairs and sofa bed and small hob. Proper bath with shower over. The resort centre was a 10 minute walk away with some lovely places to eat. The hotel was quiet in the evening. So not disturbed by any loud music or noise from other guests. All in all a fantastic stay and we can't wait to go back next year.

The holiday was just as we had imagined. The way to the next "village" after Kavros was good with 15 to 20 minutes at a comfortable pace. The hotel was great. Daily room service, very friendly staff with a good buffet for breakfast and dinner. No animation offers The food was great and absolutely beats every Greek restaurant in our local area. (Rhine-Ruhr Area in Germany) I also liked that the fries (if they were available) were homemade. We were certainly not the last time at the Vardis Olive Garden. I did not have high expectations of this hotel, but how wrong I was! The setting is perfect, nestled near the mountains, in an olive grove off the beaten track. In walking distance to beautiful Lake Kournas and Giorgioupoli beach, it was an excellent location. The rooms are spacious, we had a mountain, pool and olive grove view - room 112 with balcony. The place is spotlessly clean, the gardens are well tended with lovely orange trees and roses as well as a gorgeous pool, but the best thing about this hotel is the staff. Sofia, Thanie, Maria on reception are kind, friendly, thoughtful and are so cheerful! The restaurant and bar staff are attentive and very friendly and whoever you pass by, you get a "yasas" from. We had excellent recommendations for restaurants as well as a lovely surprise Birthday bed decoration! We were also given a lovely gift when we left of olive oil, made from the grove. Will absolutely return. You were fantastic!

Etablissement magnifique, très bien entretenu, dans une oliveraie, avec une belle vue sur les montagnes. Piscine magnifique, excellent petit déjeuner. Tout le personnel est très sympathique et surtout très professionnel, un grand merci à eux. Nous y revenons depuis plusieurs années, et cela n'est pas prêt de s'arrêter. Vivement l'année prochaine. Zeer rustig en net hotel. De medewerkers zijn allemaal even aardig en professioneel. Heerlijke keuken met verse producten. De kamer is ruim, wordt netjes schoon gemaakt, is voorzien van een keukentje met koelkast. Een auto huren is wel handig omdat het hotel ong 15 min lopen van t strand af ligt.
