Hotel Pontsteiger

Hotel was in really good location. Even if we couldn’t get double bed as we wanted the price/performance ratio was really high. I would stay again there

Helpful and friendly staff, nice views of the river. No direct ferry to central station but there’s direct bus and the ferry to ndsm doesn’t take long. Overall a great hotel:)

Fijn en schoon hotel. Erg goede service met vriendelijk personeel. Perfect verblijf zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Clean room, half an hour walk from the Central station. Quiet and new. As the wash basin was in the middle of the bed room, we felt a little uneasy to use it to spit in it. Also, the toilet and the bathroom were separate and we didn't like it.

I stayed here with a couple of friends to go to the Keukenhof Tulip Festival. It is a little bit out of the centre but the transport system of trains trams and buses works so efficiently, it was a little oasis of calm at the end of a busy day sightseeing. I would certainly stay here again, as rooms are well laid out with a power shower and comfortable bed. Staff were friendly and helpful and the lounge area looks over the water where you can get a drink from the honesty bar. A very nice stay and I would highly recommend

Some pros and cons of our 3-night stay at the Hotel Pontsteiger. First the positives: Great location for access to Amsterdam without staying in heart of city (and lower priced). We took the train from airport and purchased a multi-day bus pass to get around town. The hotel has a very convenient and close-by bus stop just 10 minutes from Central Station and a free ferry stop right next door. This appears to be a newer property so rooms/baths were modern and clean. Daily room service was performed and they did a nice job. Some negatives: We booked the room on Hotwire (blind) without a choice of room type. Upon arrival we were given an "interior" room with the only window overlooking an interior hall- something I had not experienced before. It wasn't a big deal since we were only there at night but a bit funky nonetheless. The room was tight- a large concrete support column next to the bed and barely enough room to move around the foot of bed to access bathroom- plus a permanent shelf unit that protruded into the passage and presented a risk. The biggest issue however was the sewer gas smell emanating from the bathroom. We were able to somewhat mitigate by keeping the toilet lid down and closing the sliding door between bathroom and bedroom closed at night but it was still very prevalent and put a damper on what was otherwise a positive experience.

the great photo of the building is misleading. There are apar**ents upstairs, only downstairs there are rooms without windows with a bulky column in the room. The room price is absolutely not justified and overpriced!! The ladies at reception are very unfriendly, incompetent and do not respond at all to the wishes and needs of the guests. Only the location of the hotel is good and close to the train station and the city. this hotel ruined our days in Amsterdam! We will never go to this hotel again and definitely do not recommend it!

Lovely staff at the reception, very helpful 😊👍. There was no problem storing our bag before checking in, which was great as we could explore city centre without carrying a big rucksack. Lovely room overlooking the water. Only 10 minutes walk from the hotel to the tram stop.
