Yperia Hotel

Loved this hotel from the moment we arrived in lovely Amorgos. The owners were really warm and friendly and keen to help out with anything. The room was big and spotlessly clean with a standard double bed which was a bit on the small side for us. We had a small balcony looking seawards. Breakfast was provided and we were always offered eggs freshly cooked if we wanted them. There is a small seawater pool with chairs and tables besides, plus some comfy chairs in the shade. There is a small bar which was handy. The hotel is very close to the main centre of Egalis where there are many restaurants and bars , the bus stop and a beach, so a great location.

The whole was spotlessly clean , our room with a balcony to watch the sunset was simple and straight forward. The staff were always wanting to help. The breakfast was a delicious Greek meal not just a coffee and croissant like some European countries. The pool and pool bar was a bonus as the sun went down. We stayed a week and hired a car for 3 days to explore the beaches and the villages. The snorkelling in the waters around Amorgos was just a dream , a beautiful dream. Crystal clear waters ranging between aqua marine to baby blue colours. The hotel just complimented Amorgos perfectly.

Amazing 3* hotel but in my opinion it was a 4* Beautiful island, hotel, delicious breakfast fantastic friendly staff. Couldn’t fault this Hotel in anyway.

We were prejudiced before we arrived as the hotel charged us 100% (900+ euros) for two sea view rooms six months in advance, rather than the 30% stated at booking. The sea view was partially blocked by a building in front and the side view was a dirt parking lot with abandoned trailers. The toilet paper holder sat on top of the toilet, the door to the room was broken, and the A/C wasn’t cooling. My husband, an engineer, fixed what was wrong, but when I complained to Adonis, the manager, and asked for a different room, his reply was that those were minor complaints and that if we wanted another room we could go to a different hotel. Instead of being embarrassed that my husband had to clean the clogged A/C filter, he chastised him. The pool area is very small, and it’s a long walk to a beach. The breakfast staff was very pleasant. But, needless to say we would not return.

Having stayed at this hotel in 2016 we were keen to return. Unfortunately overall it was a disappoin**ent. We had already been in Amorgos for a few days and although we did not expect the room to be ready when we turned up at 11.30, it was not a very welcoming experience and we were told to return a little later. We left our luggage and went for lunch. The check-in procedure was rather slow despite doing all the paperwork online beforehand. The room was at the very back. It was obvious that the room had not been renovated in a long time and felt dated albeit clean. The balcony was indeed overlooking the sea but there was no sun nor would you be able to see the sunset from the balcony. During the night we were awoken multiple times by the air-conditioning unit making a loud noise. We tried to play around with the settings, but invariably after half an hour or so the sound would return. We informed the reception staff in the morning and went to have breakfast. Luckily the room was changed for one at the front with an excellent view and good water pressure. This made all the difference for the rest of our holiday. The breakfast did not change throughout our stay but was basic of reasonable quality. The staff were friendly and the pool area well maintained. Overall it was a mediocre stay in what could be a high-end boutique hotel.

From the moment we were picked up by the owner at the port this was a great experience visiting Angelis and Hotel Yperia. Antonis and his team were friendly, couldn’t do enough for you, he was a very careful driver, organised our transfers, the rooms were spotless and the breakfast was brilliant nothing was too much trouble during our stay. Wish we had stayed longer

An acceptable hotel in a great location. Nice breakfast included. Kitchenette in room wasn't really useable due to lack of pots/pans.

What a lovely place to stay on the lovely island of Amorgos. Firstly the staff were incredibly friendly and provided a family a**osphere for our stay . The breakfast around the pool was lovely and they provided a much needed , in-house and economical laundry service. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the town with groceries stores and restaurants and formed an excellent base for our hiking trips around the island. We would definitely return
