Having stayed in a lot of local hotels in the Whitehaven and Cockermouth Area, in my experience and in my opinion, this is by far the best place to stay. Upon entering the hotel I received a very warm welcome and I was shown to a very well presented, clean and well maintained room which looks to be recently decorated too. A warm welcome in the bar and the food was delicious Breakfast is amazing and fantastic views. I still have a further night to stay but I feel comfortable enough to leave my review and book for my next stay too. Thank you!

Couldn’t fault a thing. Lots of little extras. Staff so welcoming and helpful, made us feel really comfortable throughout our stay. Comfy beds with everything we needed in the room. Balcony with an amazing view across the countryside. Excellent food and well stocked bar. We spent our first night in the hotel & so glad we did. Thank you for an exceptional weekend. Would definitely return & recommend to others.

Just home from a fantastic stay for Valentines. Great deal with a fabulous 3 course evening meal with included canopies and coffee and chocolates after. The rooms are spotless the beds very comfortable The staff are very friendly and go the extra mile to be helpful and the service is second to none highly recommended.

Lovely, quiet, peaceful location. Lovely place to stop staff very friendly and helpful and food was fantastic. The room very clean and tidy had a great view of the countryside and the sheep and horses in the field next door.

What can I say, second and still an amazing place to stay. Beautiful location, outstanding food, but what really makes this hotel stand out is the staff. Every person working there are friendly, caring and go above and beyond. I would give 10 out 5 for the service. Rooms lovely, and just such a relaxed atmosphere. Very popular with locals and visitors. I definitely recommend it.

Dine here when visiting the Lake District. It has been consistently good over the years and tonight was no exception. Lovely food and excellent service. Not only was the food of excellent quality it was also great value ♥️

I Only stayed over for one night for a wedding reception. Tye reception was exellent with brilliant staff and food. Tye room was comfortable and breakfast was excellent. Will definitely be returning.

We stayed for one night, and we were all very impressed with the location. The hotel is situated on the rolling countryside with beautiful gardens and farm animals in the fields. The staff were friendly and efficient. We stayed for the evening meal and the food was extremely good. Great range of dishes and a full bar to compliment the food. I'm looking forward to breakfast.
