The Level at Melia Alicante

Good location for a few days in Spain. Central and ten minutes from the airport. Efficient check in and taken to the Red Level. Stayed for 4 nights. Despite being assured separate beds this initially didn’t happen. Had to chase this a few times. Booked a suite. Allocated room was a long way from the level. Nice pool but far too crowded. People laid like sardines and far too small. Good selection of drinks available. Hot snacks ran out constantly and were not replaced. Spoke to staff about this but they could not remedy this. Lovely comfortable area and less chaotic than main restaurant. Big issue was people taking glasses outside the pool area which is dangerous. Plastic ones are there but staff do not and will not enforce this. They said we try🤨. Certainly saw no one challenge this. Why not? Quite simple just provide plastic glasses then everyone adheres to the same rules. They really do need to look at Red Level Melia Costa Del Sol which have got this absolutely right and are head and shoulders above them in all areas.

The level was fabulous. Completely separate to main hotel. Drinks , tea coffee available all day in the lounge and ‘nibbles’ most times. Renovated rooms were lovely. We faced the marina for afternoon sun and were delighted with our choice. Our room however was at the very far end of the renovated wing so was quite a trek from main reception and hotel entrance. As to be nearer centre of hotel. Didn’t eat in evening at hotel so can’t comment . Breakfast was lovely. Water was provided in room and re stocked which is always great. Would certainly return when in Alicante. Renovations ongoing but no disturbance to us at all. Stroll to restaurants . C6 ? Bus to airport drops at Plaza del mar 2 mins from hotel. 10 journey bus ticket bought on bus is €8 (including €2 for the re load able ticket). Can be used for more than one person just tap twice. So as it’s €3.85 one journey from airport if 2 people travelling on the ticket can be good value .

First time visiting Alicante with my daughter celebrating her 21st. We absolutely loved this hotel & the Level was extra special. The staff are all amazing & go above and beyond. We had an amazing time & if back in Alicante this will be my go to place 🤩

An unexpected booking recently to this wonderful hotel which I have stayed in before. However this time I booked ‘The Level’. I was particularly concerned about availability. However they fitted me in. Although I had to relocate to a different room. Both rooms were lovely. One which was a sea view (luxurious) but too big for a single person. The other a smaller balcony but still lovely and facing the piazza, ****** area. Such a lovely ambience and the staff could not of been more accommodating. Nothing was too much for them. Considering this was half term The Level never felt too busy and perfect to relax there. I would recommend getting the exclusive (almost inclusive) deal. So no under 18’s, more intimate dining, snacks, aperitifs etc area. An easier reception for all/most of your needs. Also a lovely private exit/entrance from the pool area to the beach/town etc. Even though they were doing some renovations this was not a problem. Sometimes there was a bit of noise from building work from the interior repairs & outside but earphones or going out was an option. The sun rises over the sea view rooms but later lovely to be on the other side of the hotel. Sumptuous food. Amazing service. Tipped most of the staff but forgot the waiters (sorry guys)! They all work so hard to please. Hopefully one day I will be back x

Excellent hotel, fantastic service and great location. We stayed in the Level and believe it was excellent value for money. We were well looked after throughout, the hotel was immaculate, all the food excellent and a great drinks selection. The hotel offers easy access to the beach and Alicante itself. Would recommend and would happily stay again. Only issue we had was that the ******* page states they offer free airport transfers. The hotel do not offer this so this should be removed from the page on here.

Such a shame to give it only 2 stars when it could have been easily 4 We booked 5 nights in a marina view room ( see photos taken from balcony) First the good Lovely bright room with great bed TV coffee machine kettle iron music dock and safe Bathroom has a great walk in shower nice toiletries bathrobes ect The Level is very good with nice staff some evening entertainment and the odd daytime activity Cava Wine Beer and non alcoholic drinks are available all day and spirits from 6 to 7 all free help yourself Snacks and tapas are also included It also has its own pool with lounger’s but they are really pushed tightly together There is another pool on a lower floor also a gym and sauna and a good restaurant also further bar areas So now the reason for only 2 stars we were in room 1120 marina view Firstly you cannot see the marina apart from a small gap between the trees ,the ****** and nightclub block out the rest of the view The nightclub plays loud music all night until around 7 in the morning so if this does not keep you awake the the revellers leaving from 3 to 7 will do , by the way you also have a very good view of the underground car park along with engine revving and horn beeping After 2 sleepless nights I asked if we could change rooms and was shown 3 smaller rooms on the same side which were declined then shown a sea view room that we could have for an extra payment of 120 euros instead of 180 the lovely Rebecca who showed us around said she would ask her supervisor if we could get it as a free upgrade as it was empty or even a refund on the breakfast we paid at the start The supervisor Francesco flatly refused both idea’s saying the hotel had done enough but would ask his manager and come back to us , he didn’t!

Very disappointed. Because of renovation taking place on The Level we were given a standard room in another part of the Hotel despite the fact that when we booked the room in August 2023 we were told when we arrived that the work had started before then. In other words we were conned.

A very very nice stay. Upgrading to The Level was well worth the money. It is Adults only, which does a lot for the calmness and the over all experience. The amazing The Level lounge, that is only for Level guests, had excellent service, cleanliness and a wide range of beverages and snacks/food served all day. And an amazing ocean view. Lovely staff, both at the level reception and in the lounge area. A big thank you to them for making our stay so great. The breakfast was very good, with a chef cooking station. The pool area was ok, not many chairs due to the size of the pool area, and the chairs are cramped together. The pool area is unfortunately in the shadow from around 1 pm, at least when we stayed there in May. Also the pool was very cold, so not heated. This is the cause of the last star lacking in the rating. But, the ocean view is beautiful, and the lounge being just steps away makes it a nice experience, so we layed by the pool every day the weather was good. The room was very nice with a beautiful marina view. Very clean, amazing bed, and with the much loved turn down service every night. The bar downstairs in the main reception area had excellent food and wine. If we visit Alicante again, we will for sure stay at The Level.

I really can't fault this hotel. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left, the staff could not have been more attentive and helpful. Our room was large and comfortable and kept clean (two visits per day by the housekeepers). Great views over the beach - just be aware that beach view rooms have the sun in the morning and harbour view rooms get it in the afternoon. The Level is an adult only section of a large family friendly hotel. As such, you have access to an adult only lounge, where you have complimentary drinks and snacks, and outdoor pool. The only downside was that the pool area was overlooked by rooms (with balconies), some of which were occupied by families with nosey and noisy kids. We booked half board, which was perfect for a short stay (4 days in our case). Breakfast was served in The Level's own lounge, consisting of a variety of options from cereals, pastries, breads, cakes, doughnuts, etc. and hot breakfast choices, including freshly cooked to order fried eggs and omelettes. There was even a fresh honeycomb frame set up to serve yourself fresh from the hive honey. Too much to list but all so tasty! For our evening meals, we used the a la carte restaurant (Trasluz Restaurant), rather than the buffet that was also available. We had a three course meal from a fairly comprehensive menu and every dish was delicious. The maitre d' and waiters were excellent - friendly, informative and helpful. Overall, we had a wonderful short break and I would happily recommend The Level at Meliá Alicante!
