Hôtel Lakasbah Ait Ben Haddou

Set in a stunning countryside location. Comfortable room, good buffet breakfast, evening meal choices varied. Many small shops around the hotel selling souvenirs and food. Our room had a small balcony overlooking the front. Swimming pool area. Close to the walk up to the old kasbah.

One night stay during group tour. I also stayed here during similar tour in 2014. Well located to visit UNSCO site, simple stroll down a lane. Atmospheric .All heavy wood doors. No lift. I changed rooms My room had windows(which were wide open on arrival ) opened out onto an enclosed yard with high wall surround. Minimal natural light ,low wattage lamps meant I could not see properly in the gloom.! Felt like medieval gaol! Also dirty toilet paper in bin. Replacement room overlooked rear(west) .Much better natural light and electric lights afforded batter visibility. Bath with shower over. Lots of clean spare blankets and good duvet. Nice firm mattress. Heating worked . Good WiFi. Opted for evening meal in restaurant, which is located over the road (below the terrace),.Reasonable food ,I just had what is described as a "starter" .Roof terrace with view too cold in December! Breakfast served in pool area, with big space heater full on , again opposite over the lane. Unremarkable except for some hot, fresh, square doughnut type things ,which if eaten with honey were superb. Pool area offers good views ,good size pool but one has to cross over the lane to use it ,not as appealing as a pool within a hotel's private grounds, but not applicable in December.

Good choice for an accommodation in the area. Literally next door from Ait Ben-Haddou. Room a little worn, especially the bathroom, but the hotel is in a remote location, and very reasonably priced. Great service, and the adjoining restaurant has an amazing view of the ksar.

Characterful rooms and corridor. Our room was a good size and was on the front with a small balcony. The view was over a large courtyard and to the countryside beyond, reminded me of the Wild West ( in a good way). Bathroom was small and old fashioned, no TV in room. Balcony door did not lock. Bed was hard. WiFi was very good in our room (but transmitter just outside) others in group said it was a bit patchy. For dining they use a close by restaurant. This served the same boring three course menu that we had had for lunch and dinner for several days. Likewise the pool which looked nice was across the lane. This is where the restaurant served us breakfast. Decent continental breakfast.

The hotel is situated in a quiet village overlooking the Atlas mountains. The outdoor restaurant seating by the pool was pleasing while soaking sun. All staff and property owners were very nice people who went beyond to make all of us happy. Mostafa at the front desk was a friendly and accommodating. Great place to rest after long drives.

Had to change first room because of disgusting smell. Beds hard as rocks Did not feel clean Good breakfast across street Good location Family charged for unused room- partly our fault for not checking whether we book 3 or 4 rooms, but at checkin he said to just used what we needed. Hotels mostly empty

I would not recommend this hotel. This was our second time in Ait Benhaddou and all hotels here are pretty functional as a stay-over between the Sahara and other cities. I had booked 3 rooms here due to the people restrictions on **********, but when we arrived we found we could easily fit in 2 rooms instead. We took two rooms and paid for them in the morning. Upon arriving back from the kasbah, we were told we then needed to pay for the 3rd room we didn’t use?! This was not communicated to us when we took two rooms and felt really scammy, like they just wanted to extract more money from us. They had already said we were all settled up before we left the hotel. In addition my parents room (separate reservation) reeked so bad of sewage they had to move rooms, the WiFi was very bad, the water (even for brushing teeth and showering, not drinking) was horrible. Super salty and a bit smelly. While the location is great, I’d recommend another hotel. We loved Guest House Bagdad Cafe on our previous visit and should have stayed there again. (My parents had picked this one first and booked).

Very clean rich and healthy breakfast good location with beautiful view staff are very very helpful and always smiling specially (Mustafa)and(salama)the receptionist are very kind and generous many thanks to all the staff and definitely back inshallah

The stay could not have been better. The two bed family room was perfect very authentic and spacious, typical Morrocan. The breakfast was nice and the evening meal was also good. The pool area was fantastic and was always empty till later in the day as most people use this as a stop over for 1 night. I honestly felt there was enough in the area to stay 3 nights. The staff could not have been more helpfull and accommodating. Finally the value for money was incredible £245 for a two roomed suit, with breakfast and evening meal for 4 people for 3 nights. Perfect stay!!
