Elounda Beach Hotel & Villas, a Member of the Leading Hotels of the World

Having just spent 12 days at Elounda Beach Hotel, the thing that stood out for us were how friendly and helpful the staff all were (special about out to Apostolos the concierge who booked restaurants, our transport and also tickets to Santorini- nothing was ever too much!). Our room was a stunning waterfront ambassador suite. The balcony was directly over the sea, with access to the water and uninterrupted views (picture is view from our balcony). Truly stunning (and part of a free upgrade - thank you Elounda!). The hotel are also smart in allocating the same beach sun beds for your entire stay - which means there no need to worry about grabbing a bed each morning - although I would say there is no shortage of sun beds across the resort. The general grounds are green and well landscaped, and everywhere you are you can pretty much see the sea. If I were to give any feedback to the hotel, it would be that for the price of the stay (which is definitely in the higher price range) they need to update their communal areas that are a bit dated and old ( reception, pool area and bar). It just wasn’t in keeping with some of the newer parts. I also think there was a lack of activities for kids (other than the very expensive watersports) even though there were volleyball courts, football and tennis courts. I would also suggest having more themed nights with different foods - the only one we saw was the Greek night once a week. There is also a stunning bar that is positioned right out in the water, but was almost always empty. The hotel could have made this a real feature if they had put on some live music, or happy hour, but they didn’t and as a result it was lacking in ambiance or atmosphere. Overall we had a lovely stay and loved our room. I am not sure we would go back at that price again with the hotel in its current state, however I cannot fault the staff or location (elounda and the surrounding areas are awesome). Love Crete and will go again for sure.

If you're up for a perfect holiday getaway, this is the place! Wonderful resort, friendly and very professional staff, delicious food, crystal clear water on a blue flag beach ... definitely worth revisiting!

Very nice hotel for families.Comfortable rooms with great view,big hotel for walks in the nature,swimming pool,beach with exotic white sand,playground and kids club,Breakfast buffet had everything you need and in the hotel there are lots of restaurants so you can find every kind of food.The most important was that the people who work there made our stay memorable with their hospitality.Definitely we will come back as soon as possible.

Nice resort but outdated in terms of furniture in the room. Nothing extraordinary to consider a hight ranking hotel, in my view . Perhaps, I have been many times to Crete and stayed in different 5 stars resorts, and when compared to others, the hotel struggles price wise and what is has to offer. The positive was food and a big shared pool overlooking the sea. Crete is always a great summer destination irrespective of which part of it you stay in.

We had a wonderful family holiday at the Elounda Beach hotel. The friendliness of the staff and quality of our stay surpassed our expectations in every respect. We were greeted on our arrival by Ioanna Tsaoussi, the Guest Relation Manager, who welcomed us with a glass of champagne and then introduced us to the resort by explaining all that it had to offer. She settled us into our suite and later took us by one of the hotel buggies to the Italian restaurant for dinner – a facility regularly offered to guests to access various parts of the resort which occupies a large area of gardens and grounds. Ioanna and her colleagues were always readily available throughout our stay and on hand to assist with our requirements. The service provided by all of the hotel staff was excellent, and as usual, it is difficult to single out everyone who looked after us. Special mention goes to Panos, the breakfast restaurant manager, and one of his colleagues, Eleni. Also, Maria from housekeeping, who made up our room daily and with whom we had regular family chats in the corridor. We were also impressed with the beach arrangements. Once we had chosen our parasols and sun beds, they were reserved for us throughout our stay. All of the beach attendants and bar staff looked after us well and with a happy smile. The hotel restaurants, in keeping with many other hotels, were somewhat overpriced, but otherwise there was a good range of menus available to suit most interests. We will certainly return! This hotel enjoys a superb position on the edge of Elounda village. The gardens and beach and all the public spaces are beautifully kept and the staff are very attentive. The food in the restaurants was good but expensive unless you are half board. So if you wish to eat in the hotel nightly then half board is the way forward. The price of drinks are what you would expect in a 5* hotel which is about twice as expensive as in the village restaurants which are a 15 minute walk on pavements away. Spa was luxurious but expensive and the water sports were pricey too. Being the time of year the pool and the sea was cold but that’s to be expected. Breakfast buffet was excellent. We had a sea view spa room which was clean with a bit balcony. Would I stay there again? Yes, I would.

What makes this hotel fabulous is the staff, they are all amazing and cannot do enough for you. We started off in a room within the hotel, which was basic, but nice and had lovely views, unfortunately, the shower was leaking, so we mentioned this and were upgraded the next day to a deluxe suite with a sea view, which was fabulous, The hotel has its own private beach, beach towels are provided by the hotel and they even make the sunbed up for you. Irini runs the bar by the beach and you can order from your sunbed or sit in the bar. The sushi is amazing and Irini is fantastic, such a credit to the hotel. Elounda is within walking distance with fabulous tavernas, we went there for dinner most evenings. A cab is 9 euros if you don’t fancy the walk. I would definitely visit this hotel again and thanks again to Irini for making our stay so relaxing.

A lovely relaxing break in the Elounda Beach Hotel. Very luxurious, great service and something for everyone. It is quite a large sprawling resort hotel but I think this provides a niche for all tastes. We spent days by the beach and pool but ultimately preferred the pool area. A button by your lounger to order from the staff was truly indulgent! Plenty of walks around the area to do to walk off the plentiful food, especially the breakfasts with so much choice. To be honest the hotel restaurants for dinner were quite expensive compared to what was on offer in Elounda town. The Greek restaurant wasn't really much different to those in the town but we really enjoyed the Asian Fusion restaurant which offered something different from the local offerings and the price was worth paying, especially with the excellent live music. But that was a minor gripe that barely detracted from an excellent 10 days. So many other guests seem to have returned, some that we spoke to had been there many many times, and we are sure we will return one day and look forward to it.

Just had the most amazing holiday at the Elounda Beach Hotel. We stayed for 1 week in a standard room in the main building with a view over the hotel's private beach and a spacious balcony. The room was extremely comfortable with a large, high-quality bed, linens and pillows, which were turned down each evening. On arrival, we were welcomed with a bowl of fresh fruit and a bottle of red wine. There was a constant supply of bottled water and Nespresso coffee. The bathroom was marble-fitted with an excellent selection of towels for the room and the beach, slippers and a choice of bathrobes. Complimentary toiletries were the luxury Korres brand and were plentiful. The room was decorated in a classical style with white linens which complimented the pale blue upholstery and polished wooden floors. The room was incredibly comfortable. The hotel itself is wonderful, the reception areas, restaurants, gardens, pool and beaches are beautiful and ooze a stylish quality in a classical and tasteful way. The breakfast provided for every taste with a vast selection of hot and cold offerings along with freshly made omelettes, pancakes and waffles made to your specific requests. All types of tea and coffee were brought to the table as soon as requested by the courteous staff - a truly perfect way to start each day. The beach was beautiful. On your first day you are allocated comfortable sun loungers which are yours for the duration. Each morning you are greeted by incredibly helpful staff who prepare your loungers with towelling covers, towels along with complimentary bottled water. There is a call bell on the parasol to request a vast selection of drinks and snacks throughout the day. These were all served by the loveliest lady who provided you with everything you needed. A special mention must go to Apostolos the concierge who welcomed us on arrival and was always so helpful with everything we required. We will certainly be returning soon to this wonderful hotel.
