Excellent food for dinner, breakfast needed gluten free bread, and for cups to be stacked up more often. Helpful friendly staff. Clean comfy rooms. Loads of lovely hot water.
Hi
It was a lovely place but was very suprise of a group of young ladies making a very loud noise/ at +-3:45 am.
This same group were making noise at +-11 am. I fail to understand you'll have 24 hours security and no one even noticed this.
I was very intimidated to actually open the room door to see what was the issue. I was planning for a peaceful night.
The day I checked in someone opened the door while I was naked inthe shower.I was really scared then I jumped and slipped and hurt my toes.
They don't help with luggage. If you are carrying heavy luggage you have to carry it up and down the stairs if you are staying upstairs .Also to get to the reception there are High steps.
I did not enjoy my stay
A good hotel located in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg. The rooms are small, but have everything you need. The breakfast is excellent, I can recommend it. Closed internal territory, everything is clean. A large shopping center is located 7-10 minutes walk away. From Johannesburg International Airport, about half an hour by taxi.
Check in was painless and efficient. Hotel is some distance from airport and the shuttle from hotel only runs on the hour so need to plan accordingly to catch your flight as peak hour traffic could be problematical.
Facilities are adequate for overnighting and hotel and room was clean. Room was well equipped with full ensuite, towels, and soaps.
The hotel is definitely worth the price. Its a 15 min drive from the airport and theres a shopping centre within walking distance. The rooms are spacious and comfy. The Mangwanani spa offers great services. All restaurants serve the most delicious dishes throughout the day. Theres also a rooftop bar with live performances on certain days. Ill surely return again.

ผผู้เข้าพัก5 minutes drive from airport. Convenient for transit.
Room is average. The ac is very loud, lucky we do not need AC during the night.
Staff knows what they are doing but do not make guests feel welcomed.
ผผู้เข้าพักHotel is rated at 5star but the amenities are quite average. The standard king size room is smaller than I have experience in some other hotels if that range. You do not find water glasses in the room. Room service is very slow and sometimes your call will just keep transferring between room service and reception if you needed something. If you ordered food in your room, you have to make payment immediately. It does not amount up to check out. There is only one restaurant, one cafe in the hotel. You can walk up to nearest restaurant for your food that is 800m away.Pool is there but you have to carry your own towel. The day we arrived, there was a birthday party around the pool with loud music. We avoided going to pool side. Shoe shiner is in the lobby and if you get your shoes cleaned he needs to be paid as compliment and that complement begins with 100rand minimum. To me it’s an average hotel and ok for a couple of days. It had some conference going on so extra crowd was also in the lobby for the two days we stayed If you are looking for a luxery experience, better choose another hotel. This hotel is ok for not more than two days of stay.

RRyun KiatI recently stayed for a couple of nights, and overall, it was an average experience. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff was friendly, which I appreciated. However, the room itself could have been a bit more updated. While it was clean, the furnishings seemed a little worn, and the bathroom, although functional, had some minor issues like a leaky faucet.
The bed was comfortable enough, but I did find it a bit harder than I prefer. The hotel amenities were standard—there was a gym and a small pool, though I didn't have time to use either. The Wi-Fi worked fine, and I didn't encounter any issues with the air conditioning or heating during my stay.
One thing that stood out was the location. It was pretty convenient for my needs, close to a few restaurants and shops, though not overly special. I was hoping for a bit more from the hotel's restaurant, as the menu was somewhat limited and the food was just okay.
In short, it wasn’t a bad stay, but it didn’t blow me away either. If you’re just looking for a place to sleep without expecting anything extraordinary, this hotel will do the job.
ผผู้เข้าพักIt's giving more 3 than 4 stars? Customer service poor.
Holiday Inn was full so this was a close alternative.
Had amenities but their outlets were in the kitchen far from the bed? Not very business traveller or relaxing traveller friendly.
I booked a queen studio which had a kitchenette which was great for warming food etc. Decor a bit tired so could do with some love. But apart from a very dirty bottle left on the balcony it was clean.
Location is excellent for Rosebank Mall even if you have to play chicken to cross the road 😆
Customer service was severely lacking. I thought Radisson Red staff were slow but at least they were always there. You can't call frontdesk . It's all QR codes and WhatsApp. Late check out would be the cost of another night R1980. Staff had a, I dunno attitude and werent very helpful. 1 security guard and 1 young lady in the lounge are the only exceptions. Outlets in the lounge and office were local only and I had to really ask to get where I could buy adapters / converters.
Next time I'll go elsewhere. They're not customer focused enough for me.
LLai YuinEverything of Southern Sun or Tampo Int’l Airport hotel was good except that the room windows didn’t seemed to be able to close tightly. We could feel the draft which made our rooms cold. The heaters couldn’t work either.
DDeborah-AnneI have stayed at the Quatermain before, and I am happy to say that the whole experience was once again just lovely! I had arrived VERY early on my check-in day and the staff made sure that I had a room well before the scheduled check-in time AND they upgraded me too!
The staff at the hotel are friendly, helpful and all round just a delight!! Even with the ongoing challenges that loadshedding (scheduled power outtages) brings to the smooth operation of any business.
The gardens are immaculate and tranquil, and it is unbelievable to think you are in the middle of everything with the peace and quiet that pervades.
The little bistro / restaurant's menu is thankfully limited, as it means that the quality can be assured and anything that is made tastes deliciously homemade. The evening buffet is very good value for money!
Just a small note that due to loadshedding, sometimes the email/booking system gives some issues - so don't forget to just follow up once booked :)
