As a result, services between these stations may be delayed up to 30 minutes, cancelled or revised. This is expected to continue until the end of the day. Customer advice: What's happened? Services at / between Bolton and Blackburn are being disrupted due to loose bricks in a tunnel requiring trains to run at a reduced speed. Network Rail staff are on site. How does this affect my journey? Services between Manchester Victoria and Blackburn via Bolton will be affected by this disruption in both directions. Northern services between Manchester Victoria and Blackburn via Todmorden may be affected by this disruption in both directions. What should I do? You can travel on the next Northern service to your destination, where available including services via Todmorden. Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.

No trains will run to / from the high level platforms. Trains that run through the low level platforms are able to run but will not call at Glasgow Central. You should use Argyle Street, a short distance away to use these services. We have no estimate on when the station will reopen. We expect disruption to continue on routes to / from / through Glasgow Central until at least the end of the day today, Monday 9 March. Avanti West Coast customer advice: No trains will run to / from Glasgow Central today, Monday 9 March. An amended train service will run to Motherwell, Carlisle and Preston allowing customers to connect with trains to Edinburgh and local services to the Glasgow area. Customers are strongly encouraged to check before they travel. You can use your ticket on the following train companies at no extra cost: Cross Country between Edinburgh and Birmingham. LNER services between Edinburgh and London Kings Cross. ScotRail between Glasgow Central / Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh (please note ScotRail are also impacted by this disruption). TransPennine Express services from Edinburgh to Preston. Avanti West Coast tickets dated for travel on the Anglo-Scot route on Sunday 8 March and Monday 9 March may be used on any Avanti West Coast service on Tuesday 10 March. If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before your booked train, or one of the two immediately after. If you no longer wish to travel because your train is delayed or cancelled, you can request a full refund from where you bought your ticket. Caledonian Sleeper customer advice: The London Euston to Glasgow Central service will end its journey in Edinburgh. The service will arrive in Edinburgh at 07:30. You may use your ticket at no extra cost on ScotRail services between Edinburgh and Glasgow Queen Street. CrossCountry customer advice: Your ticket can be used at no extra cost on the following services: The two CrossCountry services operating before and after your cancelled service. ScotRail services between Edinburgh and Glasgow Queen Street in both directions. ScotRail services between Argyle Street and Motherwell in both directions. If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost. Seat reservations will not be carried over to another train, but Coach B, H and L are unreserved coaches on CrossCountry services (where available) so please head to them. ScotRail customer advice: The following services will be suspended in both directions: Edinburgh to Glasgow via Shotts / Carstairs. Glasgow Central circular services. Glasgow Central to Paisley Canal. Glasgow Central to Newton. Glasgow Central to Barrhead. Glasgow Central to Neilston. Glasgow Central to East Kilbride. Glasgow Central to Ardrossan South Beach / Ardrossan Harbour. Glasgow Central to Auchinleck. The following service alterations are in place: Glasgow Central to Gourock services will be reduced to one train per hour in each direction and revised to start / terminate from Paisley Gilmour Street. Glasgow Central to Wemyss Bay services will be reduced to one train per hour in each direction and will be revised to start / terminate from Port Glasgow. Glasgow Central to Largs services will be revised to start / terminate from Kilwinning. Glasgow Central to Lanark services will be revised to start / terminate from Motherwell. Glasgow Central to Kilmarnock services will be revised to start / terminate from Barrhead. One train per hour will operate between Glasgow Central and Ayr and will be revised to start / terminate from Paisley Gilmour Street. Glasgow Central to Dumfries / Carlisle will be revised to start / terminate from Kilmarnock. Glasgow Central to Stranraer services will be revised to start / terminate from Kilmarnock. Glasgow Central low level services will be revised to not call at Glasgow Central. You can use your ticket, at no additional cost, on ScotRail services via any alternative route to your destination. Your ticket will also be accepted at no extra cost McGills bus services on all routes. Please show the driver your ticket on request. For services that run through the low level you should use Argyle Street. Argyle Street is a short distance (an approximate 5 minute walking distance) from Glasgow Central. Additionally, you can change at Partick and travel to Glasgow Queen Street low level from there. Glasgow Queen Street is a short distance (an approximate 5 minute walking distance) from Glasgow Central. Customers should consider making their own travel arrangements as it can not be guaranteed you will be able to complete your journey. If you have had to drive to another station your ticket will be valid to collect your car on your return journey. Speak to a member of staff to validate your ticket. TransPennine Express customer advice: Services WILL NOT operate between Glasgow Central and Liverpool Lime Street / Manchester Airport on Monday 9 March. As a result, you are advised not to travel. There are no trains or rail replacement buses running between locations. Services between Edinburgh and Newcastle / Manchester Airport will be subject to delays and cancellations in both directions on Monday 9 March. You are advised to check before you travel on Tuesday 10 March on the above routes. You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following services: ScotRail services between Edinburgh and Glasgow Queen Street. TransPennine Express services between Edinburgh and Carlisle. Glasgow Queen Street is a short distance (approximately 5 minutes) from Glasgow Central. If your train has terminated at Motherwell, you can use your ticket at no extra cost on the next available ScotRail service towards Glasgow Central low level. If you have purchased a ticket and your journey has been affected by this disruption, you can use your ticket dated Monday 9 to travel on Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11 March at no extra cost. Alternatively, if the train you intended to travel on is cancelled or you are unable to complete your journey then you can apply for a refund from your point of purchase.
