I have stayed at multiple motels and pensions during my trip to Korea, and I would describe this property as a cross between a motel and an Airbnb—but without the expected level of preparation.
While the room features a kitchen and a washing machine, there is a significant lack of essential supplies. Despite the booking site stating laundry detergent would be provided, it was not. Furthermore, while there is a kitchen, there were no cooking tools or equipment available.
Communication was a consistent hurdle. Checking in would have been nearly impossible had I not proactively reached out to the host when no instructions were provided. While some initial friction may have been due to a Canadian number on the booking, my primary communication thereafter was via text on my local Korean temporary number. Despite having this direct line, the host failed to provide proactive instructions.
While they did apologize for the inconvenience regarding the incorrect Wi-Fi password and missing detergent, it didn't change the fact that I had to chase down basic information and daily essentials like water and fresh towels. I only learned these were provided daily after asking.
All else meets basic needs, but due to the lack of in-person service and inconsistent communication, I would recommend staying somewhere else—like a traditional motel or pension—where cleaning services and amenities are provided by default.
