The Wilderness Hotel

Good service, the staff was helpful when my safe was malfunctioning, they sent a maintenance person during night hours to fix it!

I want to add that I nearly left the hotel feeling very despondent until Tracy Mokhali walked into me and asked how I am enjoying my stay.... it was at this moment that I felt her warm embrace, literally as if she wanted to hug me as I told her about my stay / experience! She very quickly and professionally sorted this all out by speaking to / and calling the manager to have a chat with me. Tracy was prepared to give up her very own room to make my stay better! I swear I would've left the hotel, very unhappy and would've shared my views until I had encountered her. Today I saw her and told her how she made my stay so easy and comfortable for both my daughter and I. I even called my hubby last night to let him know how accommodating Tracy and Roelof were. My family and I will definitely be back, all because of them. Roelof, the manager made me feel quite special too. I know that the hotel is quite busy but he took time out of his crazy schedule to have a chat with me. Holidays are enjoyable and checking in at hotels are usually easy and guests tend to be happy, more so when the receptionist joins in on the smiles and "holiday vibes" - I did however feel the receptionist to be quite abrupt - even the way she spoke to the Rugby boys / other guests..... Again, I re-iterate the way Tracy made my daughter and I feel, was really special! THANK YOU, TRACY AND ROELOF! Stay Blessed! Kelly

A rambling hotel well situated for visiting the Garden Route. Restaurants, shops and beach in easy walking distance. Friendly staff and a very good breakfast is available. However, there were problems. In 4 days we only managed one hot shower. Seems to be a problem there as other guests we spoke to experienced same problem. There also seems to be a chair problem as well. The one in our room had a nail sticking out whilst the one on the balcony was split down the middle-2 dangerous chairs!

The experience was fantastic. A BIG thank you to your lady at Reception called TAMMY she goes the extra mile and more re customer service) The HOTEL owners should invest in Employees like TAMMY. The Restaurant is beautiful and the Food Excellent value for money! We will definitely be returning!!

The hotel seriously needs some maintenance. Broken doors and windows. Dirty Spa pool. No porter to carry bags all the way to the back. Olivia at reception was great at check out. Could have been warned about the Telkom/Open Serve conference when we booked.

Beautiful retreat The staff of the Hotel was friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room had everything we needed, and the view of the commonage and the river was a bonus. The pool area was relaxing and so convenient not having to walk far for a swim as it was very hot. The breakfast was a bit disappointing it lacked attention and the waffles were already made, cold, and somewhat burned, but on the flip side, the eggs were made to order and super delicious. The shop in the foyer of the hotel was simply stunning, could not help myself and had to buy some stunning clothing items at very reasonable prices. A very enjoyable stay.

The Restaurant is family friendly. The Restaurant staff is truly friendly and helpful. Amenities around the Restaurant is great and there's plenty to do. The Breakfast which was included in the rate qas excellent and the serving staff needs commendation ***lene I think is her name worked tirelessy to keep us happy in the evening WELL DONE...WE WILL DEFINITELY RETURN

The hotel has been here forever. We stayed here before and will do so again. The refurbished rooms are nice, as are the bathrooms. Stil need some TLC in and around the property. Breakfast was excellent! Service was good. We will come back!

Absolutely horrible experience that will be memories for a lifetime. Our family stay in this hotel would have been spectacular if it wasn't for the rotten attitude of the hotel manager named Galen. We appreciated everything about this establishment until we had to encounter her. After she sent her staff to go knocking around guets rooms after 22:30 to find out if any of us had ordered a certain meal that some guest did not pay for, so that they could cash up and go home. We were fast asleep when they knocked as we planned to sleep early for our early morning flight with a 6:00am departure. They knocked to wake us up to ask us something we had no clue about just to apologize after and leave, and none of us would sleep after until 01:00am. When confronted her to ask her why she sent people to wake us and to express our frustration she did not show any remorse or accountability for her decision and simply told us there is nothing she could have done, she needed to know. When asked for camomile tea she laughed in our faces and said they don't have any and there's nothing they can do to help us after having woken us up, and walked away leaving us standing there. We paid money to ensure peaceful and comfortable night sleep only to be woken up for something that had nothing to do with us and got a stinking attitude in return. Totally unacceptable! Moreover she had prior promised to make us breakfast packs and have them sent to our room for the next morning for our early departure and we never saw those. Very poor and disappointing management.
