I actually live in the neighborhood around this hotel, but I booked it to host a friend for the weekend. It's not the easiest option in the vicinity to walk to from the train station, though the walk which goes along the canal for most of the way is super scenic if you have time to spare on arrival. The cab to the hotel was also fairly quick and cost us about fifteen quid.
Check-in was super convenient and casual, and the girl working walked us up to the room to introduce all the amenities and features of our room. The room was well equipped but it was a little bit of a disappointment that it didn't have a mini fridge - there aren't a lot of food options or supermarkets in easy walking distance from the hotel, so we had brought some items with us that we had to leave on the windowsill to keep chilled.
Overall though the room was great. The lower level living room was a super comfy spot to chill and eat, and then the raised bedroom was incredibly cosy. I'm 5'11” and I will say I almost took myself out on the sloped walls a few times - I imagine anyone taller would have to be very careful. I've noticed that showers in this area generally aren't super hot or pressurised, but the setup here wasn't too bad.
The pub below is of course super charming, a great place to sit with a pint and watch the sunset, though we didn't try the food. I will probably come back to this pub, and would stay in the inn again if I ever have any reason to.
