We loved the Duke Hotel. The staff, such as reception folks Sharon, Jason, Raul and Sharlon were just so professional, helpful and friendly ... actually ... all the staff. We didn't catch all their names, but the breakfast servers and room attendants - everyone! This hotel gives knowledgeable advice on local buses to interesting villages and beaches, can assist with obtaining ferry tickets, and organize taxis etc. BTW, the breakfast selection was abundant and colourful. I thoroughly recommend The Duke!

Starting with the information - we stayed at So City as a young couple (who arent particularly into nightclubs/bars) to see Matla for the first time over a week. I have given this a 'benefit-of-the-doubt' rating due to the hotel being incredibly new. We picked So City Hotel because of the value, it was incredibly well priced. I'd imagine this is a strategy due to it being so new but it was certainly well worth the price we paid. On to the hotel as a whole - I feel this is definitely aimed toward capturing people coming to Malta for some night life. Its positioned so that no more than 10 seconds from leaving the lobby, you can be in a bar, and their are some nice bars surrounding. That said, we werent there for that - but this location also meant that finding an evening meal, or a quick early night drink was incredibly easy. Exploring the island was also very easy from here, Valletta was a very short journey, and as we had opted to rent a car, there was a carpark about 5 minutes walk away (Pengardens) which is reasonably priced for over night parking, and we never struggled for a space. The room was very comfortable, and the mattress was perfect and bedding very soft and comfortable. Our upgraded room was also incredibly spacious. The theming is a nice touch and makes the room a bit more characterful and individual. Staying on the 7th floor, there was minimal noise at night, altough id be concerned if we needed to keep the window open.... The black out curtains were also amazing for keep the room dark for a little bit of extra sleep. Constructive criticism for the room would be: The shower tempurture is difficult - the hottest setting is insanely hot (my other half loves hot showers but this was too much for her also) and it wouldnt go cold, just cooler, it also seemed to get colder through out the shower and you found yourself adjusting. There is not a lot of storage at all for longer stays. This is perhaps a by product of it feeling aimed towards 'nightlifers' who might stop 3 nights or so. I would perhaps ask reception for additional hangers if you have plenty of clothes for a longer stay. The mini fridge, altough useful, is not big enough to put larger water bottles in, which can be annoying. The aircon unit is situated in a place which means it blows directly at the bed. I tried to play with the control but there was no way to adjust it that I could find. Im trying to cool the room, not refridgerate myself. The timer on the aircon also didnt seem to work, so setting it the blow for 30 mins whilst i went to sleep just didnt seem to work. The TV is not a full smartTV which is a shame. Just channels and an internet browser, which are never nice to navigate around.... On to other notes: Breakfast is just what you need. Its not an all out buffett where there is everything you could dream of, but there is more than enough and a few items cycle so you can expect a slightly different breakfast each morning. We stayed for 2 nights in early October, after reading the reviews , and before a business meeting on the main Island. The hotel was quite nice, had a lift, room was clean and tidy with a cute 4 poster bed. The ensuite worked well. It is right near a Church. The bus to Victoria is just outside around the Church. There are a number of lovely eateries around, including the Fat Rabbit under the hotel itself. The best part however was Frankie. This manager made the place special and I wish we could have stayed longer. He was helpful, engaged and a fountain of information. He even took our luggage to Port on our last day so we could utilize the morning better. We also appreciated the transport from the airport directly to Gozo , on the car ferry, which we pre-arranged. If there is something that could be improved is that details of what is a breakfast inclusion should be made clearer. Thank you for a lovely stay in Gozo!

We booked the penthouse room to have a terrace where one can enjoy the view with a cup of tea or a glass of wine Unfortunately the terrace has a very high wall and once you sit down the view succumbs to a horrendous wall. We had issues with the tv as it kept going out of the programm and we couldn’t watch anything. We do call and fair enough a very polite lady came to check the issue, she couldn’t at first and after 15 odd minutes she managed although she told us it could be a faulty box. After she left the same thing happened , we didn’t call again as she had to come back from another town and as we were there just for a day we opted not to. When we returned after a lovely and enjoyable dinner at the Rendezvous restaurant and went to sleep we noticed that 3 flood lights were left on all night and light was coming in the room as the curtains rail was around 10cm away from the wall. As I am a light sleeper I couldn’t sleep at all. Anyway in the morning we went down to a most enjoyable breakfast and went to pay for the night we spent . I never complained but I did tell the receptionist about the tv problem and I mentioned it so the next person won’t have the same issues. I sent an email pin pointing the issues we had , I never asked either for a discount or my money back. All I did raise the issues as they were easy to solve , and if they did they wouldn’t have to face unhappy clients. Well well all hell broke lose as all excuses under the sun came poring down, such as the floodlights have been put up just three weeks ago….. the horrendous wall is what it is and nothing can do about it as it’s an old wall … Then a phone came and I was told I was imagining things by this fine lady on the other side of the phone, now that’s customer care at it’s best . If she had the time to notice that i wasn’t asking for any money back then she wouldn’t have been so offensive and so defensive. Sorry Quant but the issues are easily tend to The terrace should have an elevated area where one can sit and enjoy the weather and the views and the light from the flood lights can easily be solved by fixing the curtain further closer to the wall . This will prevent the amount of light going in

สามีของฉันและฉันเป็นแขกของโรงแรม Solana และสปาในช่วงสัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมา และฉันต้องบอกว่าประสบการณ์ของเรานั้นเหลือเชื่อ เกี่ยวกับที่พักเรามีห้องพักที่ดีซึ่งได้รับการทําความสะอาดอย่างเหมาะสมเสมอปัญหาเดียวที่เราเผชิญคือผนังบาง ๆ ซึ่งเราสามารถได้ยินทุกอย่างจากห้องอื่น ในส่วนของแผนกอาหารและเครื่องดื่มเรามีร้านอาหารให้เลือกมากมายเช่น Tosca Prickly Pear Belini และ Top Deck ซึ่งเรามักจะมีประสบการณ์การรับประทานอาหารที่ดีโดยพนักงานที่สุภาพและใจดี แต่คนที่ทิ้งความประทับใจที่ไร้ที่ติให้กับเราคือซาร่า เธอทักทายเราด้วยรอยยิ้มเสมอทําให้เราทําค็อกเทลที่น่าตื่นตาตื่นใจซึ่งแสดงให้เห็นว่าเธอทํางานได้ดีและเราชอบคุยกับเธอ โดยรวมแล้วเราพอใจกับการเข้าพักในโรงแรม และจะแนะนําให้คนอื่น ๆ อย่างแน่นอน!!!
