Delightful staff. We asked for a High, Quiet Room with a Walk In Shower and that is, exactly what we got - Room 304 Wide selection of items at Breakfast. Super staff, after ordering an Espresso on the first morning, one was brought to me without asking each day Whilst I support the Greeks for trying to get their Elgin Marbles repatriated. I doubt the country of origin is asking for the offensive statues of black people by the fireplace in the Breakfast Room. In 2023 positively offensive. They should go. Hotel very well built but now looking tired. A major makeover needed. Drain for our Shower needs bleaching, very slow to drain away. I think the management deliberately choose 3 over 4 stars hotel. With small ”improvements” it could easily be a 4 star. Hotel is located a couple of minute walking distance from center of the city and parking is free and vast. Nevertheless l would like to mention two things. First the check-in. The only info we got at the check-in was ”the room in on third floor”. And thats it. Never experienced something like this in all my life. Ever. The second is breakfast. The staff is quite friendly and options to choose from at the buffett table are ok. But.. The staff is making so much noise Inside the kitchen talking and joking that you have issues hearing your own thoughts. Quite unconfortable and something to address to.
The Allegria offers design rooms set in a charming historic house 700 metres from Udine Train Station. The hotel's restaurant is open to the public and serves typical cuisine of Friuli. All rooms at the Allegria feature elegant parquet floors, and are equipped with air conditioning and flat-screen TV with satellite channels. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout. The Allegria's restaurant serves fish and meat menus varying monthly, with vegetarian and gluten free options on request. A buffet breakfast is available between 07:00 and 10:00.
The first contact with Mrs. Maria Svarc, head of the booking office of the Hotel Principe in Udine took place by mail on 12.01.2022, when I asked for a reservation of nine rooms for 21.04.2022. The affirmative reply arrived immediately. After the booking, the details of my credit card were sent to Ms Svarc. One week before the start of the trip, Ms Svarc informed me that my credit card was not valid and that I have either to give another credit card or transfer the money, because otherwise she will have to cancel our booking. Immediately a friend stepped in and his card details were sent. Ms Svarc refused this card as well and insisted on a bank transfer. The transfer was made on Good Friday but was obviously delayed by the bank internally due to the Easter holidays. On the 20th of April, while cycling in the middle of the Canal Valley, I received a call from Ms Svarc, that the money had not arrived and that she will therefore cancel the booking, as there are always crooks working with tricks. This prejudice shocked us very much! All of us in the group are serious people with university or business backgrounds, and none of us needs to take advantage on anything. Apart from that, all our credit cards worked the whole week in all other hotels without any problems. In the afternoon, we sent to Ms Svarc the details of a third credit card, which she again did not accept. I asked the hotel owner in Gemona to call her and confirm that the cycling group existed, that there were no problems with the payment and that we wanted to claim the rooms at the Hotel Principe the next day. Still on 21.04. in the morning a friend from Udine had to make a telephone call to Mrs. Svarc to confirm our seriousness. It may be that such a strict way of dealing with customers is desired by the hotel management, but this way of dealing with us by Ms Svarc is utterly unacceptable for us. We recommend a retraining for Ms Maria Svarc, otherwise we will never book in this hotel again. Wolfgang Scholz, the organiser
Das Hotel liegt am Rand der Altstadt von Udine, die man nach 10 Minuten erreicht. Die Zimmer sind mit allem ausgestattet, die notwendig sind. Unser Zimmer leider hatte einen Dachbalken, bei dem man aufpassen musste, dass man sich den Kopf nicht stößt. Das Frühstück wird in der Lobby serviert und bei gutem Wetter, kann man es auch auf einer Terrasse zu sich nehmen. Das Auto kann man auf einem Parkplatz seitlich am Hotel abstellen.
I stayed here three nights during a recent vacation in Italy. While the hotel is a little far from the center, taxis were readily available, and made travel easy. The hotel is well-maintained and the staff is very friendly. The breakfast was especially good and reasonably priced. I don’t believe the hotel has a swimming pool or a fitness room which is a drawback, but it is well located near an excellent restaurant. I would definitely stay here again.
This Hotel was 3 star not 4 star. I guess because of the swimming pool they have achieved this? The Restaurant was closed during August (disappointing) and it is in a more industrial area, luckily we had a car so could drive to a restaurant one of the evenings. Reception were really helpful. The bar is modern and drinks were great and reasonable. The bar menu is limited but was good. Breakfast was good with lots of choices although watermelon the only fresh fruit. The corridor outside our room was dark and very 1970’s looking. Room had all we needed but dated. Pool was fine, we had to take beds outside to the sun. Small space outside. All in all just ok, could be improved with an upgrade of the building!
Credo siano immotivate le molte recensioni negative che leggo. Certo non è un albergo di primo pelo, certo alcune cose (tra cui le docce) potrebbero essere migliorate. Ma sì tratta comunque di un albergo utile, strategico e di prezzo accettabile. Il personale è sempre gentile.
Lo abbiamo utilizzato due notti come appoggio per visitare varie località dell'udinese. Ottimo compromesso tra posizione, servizi e cordialità. La camera assegnata era molto ampia e pulita. Colazione giusta per il tipo di hotel, personale gentile e sorridente. Unico suggerimento che mi sento di dare è quello di ”rinfrescare” il locale bagno: pur essendo ben pulito, rubinetterie, sanitari e complementi riportano i segni del tempo e dell'usura. Nel complesso esperienza positiva.
Molto confortevole e pulito, l'hotel è a due passi dalla stazione dei treni e degli autobus e molto vicino al centro raggiungibile a piedi. È silenzioso, con belle e ampie camere dotate di frigobar, con personale gentilissimo e colazione a buffet buona.
