In my opinion, Palazzo Adele is the best place we ever stayed in. If we go to Ercolano again, it would be our only choice. The building is very elegant. The terrace on the 2nd floor (or 1st floor in Europe) is spacious. The parking is gated, only opened with a key fob. The room is spotless; I even feel comfortable walking on the floor barefooted---the only other hotel that gave me such confidence was The Ritz-Carlton in Toronto. The owner is such a nice guy! When we arrived, he gave us a warm greeting. He also provided us with some great advice on how to go to visit Vesuvius and Pompeii, as well as where to eat. In fact, he printed out some useful information, which became our guidebook in the following few days. We went to the Herculaneum Site as he suggested, spent nearly 2 hours there, only covered 60% of the whole place. We followed his instruction to purchase the tickets to Vesuvius, and had a great trip there. We asked about restaurant, he suggested a few of them. We tried the best one on the list, Bistrot Italia, fantastic food, affordable price, nice wine, and impressive service. It was so good that on the day we left, we went there again. The location of Palazzo Adele is great! Walking distance to almost everywhere (the train station, the Herculaneum Park, restaurants, The Royal Palace of Portici, oh and an amazing gelato place). The neighborhood is nice. I remembered we walked through a short tunnel and there was not even a slight trace of urine smell in the air, which was very, very impressive. All in all, Palazzo Adele is a great place to stay. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the Naples and Pompeii area.

We missed a flight out of Naples and overwhelmed with decisions to make quickly, just took a chance on San Cristoforo based on other reviews. What a happy accident! The hotel is such a high quality experience, and we were dumbfounded by our dinner at Line, which should have a Michelin star. We had a three week stay in Rome/Amalfi and stayed at multiple spots and Line was the best dinner, nothing else even close. Talk about making limoncello from lemons! Wow. Also recommend saving yourself the time and expense of a trip to Pompeii. The local suburb of Ercolano has its own archeology park from the Vesuvius eruption, Herculaneum. The hotel offers a free shuttle into Ercolano, and the walk to Herculaneum is only about 15 minutes. They are still uncovering new digs at the park as recently as 2021, and they are breathtaking. Also more informal than Pompeii, and you can wander around Herculaneum and see everything. Amazing to see the tile floors, frescoes and mosaics up close. Be aware the hotel is also a wedding venue and you may have some singing and music, although it does end at a reasonable hour.

The stay overall was wonderful. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff on reception very helpful! They helped to organise transport from the airport for us, which was very easy with a lovely and informative driver who advised us on things to see and what we were driving past! The hotel was lovely and clean, the shower and facilities amazing and just a fab stay overall.

Well where do I start? Let’s start at the very beginning and hopefully I don’t forget anything! I’ve just returned from a ten night stay here. On arrival reception were just lovely and very welcoming. Check in was very quick and efficient. The gentleman explained what they could arrange in the way of excursions for you - I already had mine booked prior to leaving home. That even explained the tourist tax of 4 euros per night for the maximum of seven nights. One member of staff showed me to my room whilst the bell boy brought my luggage to my room. The bedroom was lovely and large. Nice and cool and very efficient air conditioning. Bed was very comfortable. Nice balcony with a table, two chairs and partial sea view looking over bay of Naples and Marina Picalo Bathroom nice and large with toiletries supplied. Housekeeping twice daily. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had. Choice of food very large and all buffet style. Antonio and his staff a credit to the hotel. Hotel very centrally located. Within easy walking distance of everywhere. Will I be back yes.

Everything...and I mean every part of our 3 day stay at the Villa was perfect! From the moment we arrived, Antonio and Pasquale's genuine warmth and hospitality were a special part of our stay. The Villa's grounds are tranquil and so pretty and our room with the great terrace was the place to enjoy a cup of cappuccino in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening after day trips to Pompeii and Naples. The location is great..a 10 minute walk to the railway which connects directly to the Metro so getting around was easy. Our room was immaculate and so beautiful. Each element.. the bed and linens, the elegant and comfortable furnishings, and the bathroom was so pretty and paid homage to the feel of the Villa....not to mention the soaking tub after a long day of sightseeing! The breakfast with it's fresh baked pastries and wonderful selection of fruit, meats and cheeses and other delights to many to mention was a delicious start to the day. I challenge anyone not to be seduced by the aroma of the pastries baking in the morning. In closing I would just like to say that a stay at the Villa De Cillis Carafa is a hidden gem and the affordable room rates are a true bargain. If you are traveling to the area, don't miss the opportunity to experience Antonio and Pasquale's warmth and hospitality and experience the delight of the Villa. Kathleen and John
LloveyousomuchI had a stay here for a few days and really enjoyed it. The hotel was really clean, the bedroom was a good size, and well equipped. The food was delicious and the evening menu changed every day. Wonderful roof terrace with great view! The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly and really made the trip. If I were staying in the area again I'd definitely go back.
The location of the hotel is twofold - not in a very tidy area, but that's not the hotel's fault, but it is only a 10 minute walk to the port to catch a ferry to the Isle of Capri and there is a supermarket (with alcohol) just around the corner). It's a large hotel, with a huge foyer/lobby, which houses the reception area, a lounge (with a large TV), a bar and two central lifts - two lifts in a hotel; what a bonus!! The total area had retro furniture, but it was a little sterile, perhaps too cavernous and the bar was only open for limited hours. Notwithstanding that, the accommodation was good. A large room, comfortable bed, good shower, although perhaps the bathroom was a little small in proportion to the room, air con, safe, fridge and free wi-fi. No complaints whatsoever. The breakfast room/restaurant is on the top floor with a great view over the port and the Tyrrhenian Sea and on a clear day, you can sea Capri. It is an enormous room with some very large, round tables, which is great for a group of people to converse with each other, but with 14 and 30 seats respectively, perhaps just too big. Breakfast was good for cold options, although no orange juice or decent bread for toast. Our tour included dinner in the restaurant as well and that too, was very reasonable. All in all, a good stay for two nights.
